If no town had a form of EMS, then if you're injured, who would you call? Well the MCFD has you covered. This is a 2009 Ford E450 Ambulance which is utilized by the Mitford County Fire Department. It is Medic 19, and it serves with Station 1 as it's only ambulance, and the department's one of two ambulances.
This ambulance is similar to Ambulance 7 from Station 2 except it is an ALS (Advanced Life Support) medic, while Ambulance 7 is BLS (Basic Life Support). It is equipped with equipment similar to a hospital room, and is capable of treating a patient on the way to the hospital by doing everything from restarting the heart to treating cardiac arrest. It is staffed at all times by two paramedics. It has a red and yellow Code 3 Excalibur lightbar, and a Whelen siren.
Congratulations! This creation has been nominated for the BEST OF 2011 Emergency Bricks Award in the category of "Best Ambulance." Thanks for the words gentlemen.
I think the only reason that is looks like an F series is because of the way I angled the lights. Originally they were to be pointed down, but I tried it, didn't like it, and made them point towards the grill.
In terms of next build, I'll probably be updating Bat Cheif 3 with decals as well. So stay tuned for that!
Phil, this Medic is stunning! Absolutely excellent work. Waiting for the decals really paid off! They add so much realism to the unit. The shape is great, but more like an F-Series than an E-Series. Spectacular job, I can't wait to see your next build!
Not bad, but I think it looks more like F-350 not E-450, and the only problem with the chevrons is that the color is not matched, try and make it in a darker tone, this way it would look better! -Paulo R.
