A short poem inspired by the children’s book ‘Commotion in the Ocean’. The fish is based on a Hairy Angler. I wanted the photos to be darker and more atmospheric but I have found it extremely difficult to get it right. I hope you like the bioluminescence effect - I have used 4 light bricks, glow in the dark teeth and eyes.
Down in the fathoms of the deep blue sea,
no light can penetrate it is difficult to see.
There are creatures down there I tell you no lie,
they have scales of light like stars in the sky.
Their bioluminescence draws you in,
with a warm fuzzy feeling all over your skin.
They creep up behind from the dark of the gloom,
If you’re not too careful it will seal your doom.
I kid you not it would make you shudder,
get too close and YOU'LL be a fish supper.
Some detailed photos of the vignette and the Hairy Angler Fish. I wanted the fish to be scary but have a cartoony feel - after all this is supposed to be a children's poem not a horror. The vignette is small, but aimed only to set the scene.
This shows that you can handle several styles & technics brilliantly.
1) Simple vignette
2) New/different usage of some pieces
3) Hybrid technic/bionicle/brick fish
(I luv that fish!)
4) Creative use of camera poses & lighting
Nice work. Your piece fits the category beautifully. The angler fish is very menacing and well built. Your coral scene say a lot with a little. I like that it is not over done so the attention goes to the Creature.
That title pic is priceless!!! Love it so much. The angler fish is brilliant. Really scary but also kind of cute too... since its inspired by a children's story I think that works really well for the moc, and the colours of the vig and how you've lit it really help with cartoonizing it. Very very well done. I love this contest!

Wow bro! I soon will be making another sports car.
Brilliant! That first picture is great, the glowing fish looks creepy and its eyes are awesome. I also love all the coral details, this moc is beautiful yet ugly ;) . Lighting for photos is a real pain, i've very nearly finished mine but the photos are proving really difficult to get the results i'm after. The one thing i would suggest is to get some better photos of the fish, try it on the black background maybe? This is great and is going to be tough to beat, good luck
