Just a simple Pine Tree for the coniferous round. I used the 1x1 stud, modified with studs on 4 sides for the trunk. As I stacked the studs, I offset them a quarter turn to give the staggered look to the branches. And if I didn't it would have been far too boxy to look good at all.
My last trip to the Pick A Brick wall netted me about 400 of those light green round studs, so I just have to get some use out of them!
Nice work! I've seen this technique before but never as a study. This is one of my favorite (LEGO) trees and you've nailed it. ...and I know what you mean about the light green rounds, I have tons myself. The regular green ones are tough to find!

Looking good Kayne, I like the last shot most, its interesting. I still don't know what tree to make myself... ~Thoy
I hear ya...I pondered many conifers, and then just went with a plain old pine. Looking forward to seeing yours as well...you never disappoint.
