No, it isn't the eye of Sauron..... though a glowing eye of Sauron would be cool.... Hmmmm, I'll have to keep that in mind for future mocs.
About this creation
The link to my opponent, Derek Berdine's very nice creation. The link to The 2011 MIT's .
My category was "Go ahead, make my day", and I chose to take it quite a bit differently. The whole moc is basically one giant metaphor for the things in life and a day. The giant eye in the middle represents God, and how he is all knowing and sees everything. Every other section of the moc I will explain below each picture of the section. My only regret is I didn't really display any new or cool building techniques.
The whole moc.
The eye when it isn't glowing.
This twisting tower of epicness represents evil, hate, and suffering. It looms over you and casts you into shadows.
My cat, Meowie, likes my legos.
The mushrooms represent fear. They grow in dark and damp places and go unnoticed until they are everywhere. Then they slowly decompose and break down everything.
The bank atm represents faith. Sometimes you are tempted to spend your money right away, but if you save it and deposit it, it will pay off in the end.
The bike represents freedom. With it you can choose to go at whatever speed you want and go anywhere you want.
Santa represents kindness and generosity. He gives people gifts and asks for nothing in return.
These two identical figs that are fighting represent internal conflict, when you fight with yourself, and when you can't decide which path to take. Sometimes it seems like there is no way out of it and you are trapped.
The man working on a sword represents hard work and how it pays off. It can take years to master sword making but it is all worth it when you finish your beautiful masterpiece of a blade.
Here is one of my favorites, it is a grandfather clock. The best part is when you crank this nob thing on the back the gears on the inside turn and the clock hands move. The clock represents how time is more precious than you think, once it is lost or gone, it cannot be replaced or redone. So make your decisions and spend your time wisely.
The crank on the back.
You can see the gears on the inside in this picture.
See, it moves, just like I told you.
The eye again.
A final artistic shot of the glowing eye.
I explained what the moc means to me, but you may interpret it differently.
Thanks for Viewing and please comment!
I understand and I agree with your decisions. My creation didn't display many interesting techniques or details and Derek's was very cool. I think it wasn't very contest worthy. This was a great contest and I want to thank all the judges for the time and money they put into it.
The concept is excellent and the way you conveyed the message through the layout of the MOC was very effective. I like the fact that you took the time to make the clock "work". However, my vote goes to your opponent.
