Evolution of LTFD Station 6

Station 6 was the last planned station for Lego Twp....at least it was supposed to be the last planned firehouse. The first Station 6 was a near exact replica of a St. Lego Firehouse. It was a design I really liked at the time and I was in need of a firehouse and was drawing a blank on what to build. After a while, I decided to make a new firehouse, replacing the St. Lego style house. Later, it was replaced yet again.
About this creation
This is the first station 6 in Lego Twp. Again, it was modeled after a St. Lego Firehouse. A gas-fed fire destroyed this firehouse, while the fire apparatus were out at a run.

This firehouse was built on the site of the former firehouse. The only modification done to this firehouse was the installation of a diaphone and replacement of the bay doors with white doors. The firehouse was closed in the summer of 2011, due to the expansion of Route 35.

This firehouse opened in the summer of 2011. The firehouse is located around the block from the former firehouse. As a matter of fact, the rear properties border each other.

Quoting Builder Allan Very nice build, cool and discrete details and an overall sleek but still "home-like" look.
Thank you, BA! I try to make the transition between two types of neighborhoods with this firehouse. I envisioned Station 6 to be on the edge of an industrial area and residential area. The apparatus bay area is boxy like a warehouse with a grayish-blue color, while the residential looks more like a house with lots of natural lighting. In my mind, it helps make a nice transition. I hope it gives that impression as well.

Quoting El Barto ! Quite a collection you've got, Dude!
Thank you, bro! A lot of time and money went into it. However, bricks from the old firehouses were used in other firehouse modifications or builds. Currently, the only old firehouse still intact is the Station 6 before the current station 6.

Quoting Lee Crowder You're on a roll today Bob! The new Station 6 is by far my favorite Station of yours, if not the whole Lego Community itself and has such eye-grabbing details. It's also been great watching your department change, Station and Apparatus wise, the past few years and have been such an inspiration to me as a fellow builder. My hats off to you, Bob! -Lee
Thanks, Lee! I just recently went through all my old LTFD photos that were on 3.5" floppies and stored them on my computer. That allowed me to do more with the Evolution series. I just wish I didn't lose my old 4-wide photos! That was interesting!

Quoting Lego Riverside FD. Spectacular work, excellent detail.
Thank you. It was a challenge, since the prototype's roof over the living area was different than what I can do with Lego. Unfortunately, Lego doesn't make some roof bricks with certain angles. It would be fantastic if they did. But it still came out all right. : )
