United Socialist Russian Republic 9K82 "Chudovishche" LRMTMS (Long Range Mobile Tactical Missile System)
About this creation
The 9K82, alternatively known as the "Reklamiruyushchiĭ" or "Boomer", is a newly developed Multiple Launch Rocket System for the Ground Defense Force of the United Socialist Russian Republic. The 9K82 is primarily used for missile strikes against targets heavily defended by AA systems, or as heavy support artillery.
The 9K82 features eight roadwheels, each with independent steering capabilities. However, the front two wheels are primarily used for steering on most on-road and off-road surfaces. Each tire is self-inflating and can be pressure regulated.
The main payload of a single 9K82 are two 1.8 meter 8K561 "Samozvanets" or "Intruder", Intermediate-Range Ballistic Missiles (IRBM). Each "Intruder" missile has a total length of 12.7 meters, weigh approximately 8,500 kilograms and consist of two primary stages. "Intruder" missiles have a payload of 1500 kilograms and have a maximum range of approximately 5400 kilometers. The head of the missile carries two standard nuclear or non-nuclear warheads.
The 9K82 stands 2.53 meters tall and is 9.27 meters in length. The 20 tonne beast is powered by two gasoline engines which can accelerate the 9K82 up to 65 kilometers per hour. One engine drives the 4 wheels on the left of the truck while the other engine drives the 4 wheels on the right. It has a maximum cruising range of 500 kilometers. The cab of the truck is NBC protected and allows the crew to fire their payload without exposing themselves to contaminants, and possesses several centimeters of armor.
Each 9K82 has a crew of six, one driver, two mechanics, one communications, a navigations expert and one commander. All crew members ride in the cab of the truck, and are armed with pistols and PDWs.
All the tools necessary for on-the-spot repairs such as leaking fuel lines, damaged wires, or slightly damaged engine components are stored within the bed of the 9K82.
