Ever imagined F1 car in future, with hover technology? I did, and this is the effect. Basically typical F1 car shape minus wheels plus cockpit with windscreen. No sponsor's decals yet; assume that this is still a testcar :>
Underside. I wonder why Lego does not produce "inverted" tiles (flat underside, normal studs on top). It would be great, seriously.
The Formula A hovercars have to be light and powerful - this is universal reciepe for speed. They do not have any landing gear, and they are moved on special, standarized for all teams cart. The cart is also hovercar's start platform which is hauled off the starting area as soon as last car dissappears after first corner.
Cockpit does not open - it is simply put in place by mechanics and then locked by clamps. In case of accident, the canopy can be pirotechnically shot away from the inside as well as from the outside using external switches.
