Congrats on another MOTD! Alien Conquest was one my favorite Lego lines and I was disappointed that it only lasted one year. Actually, I think this viper looks more realistic than it did in the set, with it's Warthog-style engines, instead of the space-y rocket engines. Just one question though, how did you get the number 73 on the Viper's tail to be facing right side up?; on my version of the sticker, the 73 is upside down because the tail piece it's for is mounted on its side.
Absolutely amazing. Alien Conquest is one of the two themes (Heroica being the other) that brought me out of my Lego "dark ages" a few years back, and it's still one of my fave themes ever. I love this enhanced Viper (a "heavy gunship" variant or "Mark II" prototype, perhaps?) and wish there were instructions on how to build it (or even an LDD file to help) as I'd love to have this exact model with my ADU army rather than a "guesswork" attempt. Regardless, fantastic work for one of Lego's best ever series. (just looked up the story behind the custom sticker too... wonderful tribute).
Mark Stafford - "Anyone want me to build an enhanced version of the whole command center to go with this?"
I will respond with this answer with a few questions, Mark.
1. Do you want a land base or a capital space craft? I am open to either one myself, but I've always wanted to build a capital space craft.
2. Do you want to go to the Mall of America to the LEGO Store to get this done, or should we find a LEGO Club elsewhere within the Twin Cities, Mark?
3. Will you be able to provide more LEGO parts to me so that we can get this thing built?
4. Will we also rely on other capital space craft builders to get the task done?
5. When do you want this done, Mark?
6. Where do you want this done, Mark?
In other words, provided that you can provide me with the right answers to my questions, challenge accepted.
Hello, Mark, and, before I begin to comment on this, but were you one of the people that had designed the Alien Conquest theme for LEGO? I would like to know the answer to that if you can provide me with that one, okay? I always knew that the main ADU set with the little fighter craft had a clear Vic Viper influence in its design. By the way, I love your Vic Viper that you have on MOC Pages and it is one of the best examples of one that I have seen on MOC Pages. Oh, and by the way, if you look at the Vic Viper Owners Club, you will see something (soon to be some things in the future) from me on there, too. Why not check it out and give me your thoughts on my MOC? Thank you.

By the way, if yor a LEGO designer, look up brickforge.com Its a cool site with lego minifig acessories. They have thi HALO ODST armor but one of them is for ADUs.
Wow, I did not know any Lego designers were on this site. It's an honor to finally meet one. Your job has been my dream job since I got my first set. If you had some time, I would ask you to check out some of my creations, but I know you are probably busy. I congratulate you on MOTD. You deserve it. Go Lego!!!
One question: Would you be so kind and add this one and maybe some more of your Vic Vipers to our group "Vic Viper Owners Club"? We want to collect as many Vic Vipers as possible on MOCpages and a collection wouldn't be complete without your Vipers!
Eye-catching build, no doubt drawing upon your valuable experiences with the development of Alien Conquest. I'm a big fan of yours and I'm sure many would wish to live the dream that is your job/hobby! It would be a great honour to have you peruse this recent microscale creation of mine. 2 thumbs up! http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/310761
One of my favourite things on here so far. I haven't built your official version yet (saving it for a rainy day) but you've inspired me to build the Raid VPR Advanced - pictures of which I'm about to post. I'd love to know what you think of it.
Thanks for all the kind words, your requests are being acted on and I've started on the Command Centre Plus. It's proving to be a bit more challenging then expected - twice the size in all dimensions means it's actually almost 8 times bigger by volume then the original... it's over 100 hundred studs long and going to take quite a while as I intend to make it very cool! Thanks again. Mark.
Oh wow, I actually just picked up the set today for all those useful parts and great tires, and as always, built it once, and I have to say, this is one Lego set that really surprised me. Those who designed the whole set really deserve a pat on the back, even though I am well out of the age bracket, I found it really fun to build, and the features were really well done. So yeah, I would love to see a plus version HQ. As for the viper, that's a really nice upgrade, easy to see why the price would jump a lot with those improvements!
Holy bleep! When I built my VV I looked over at the fighter on top of the HQ and thought "ha that looks like a VV" since I don't use the stickers from sets I didn't realize... I am floored right now! Lego actually incorporated a fan in one of their sets!?!? To the question you posed... YES, please. Build it! Did Nnenn have any input on that set or was that done after his passing? I love the upgraded version you've done, much more authentic, as it should be. Great build. ~cheers
"Anyone want me to build an enhanced version of the whole command center to go with this?" Uhhhh...let me think about that. H@llz yeah! (And for those who are apparently unaware, those custom decals are actually included in the ADU Command Center set! It was really amazing to see the LEGO Group pay tribute to such a great fan as Nnenn.)
I absolutely love this mash up! The ADU colors are rad! The bionicle parts on the engines are a very nice touch. This is a very nice tribute to him and the custom decal is something he would love. Amazing work dude!
