Porsche 917
Hello again this is Alex here. Sorry i've not made anything in a while, even though i have, i just couldn't upload them to the magnificent mocpages because i was busy creating stuff. Well, here it is, the spectacular Porsche 917, one of the prettiest cars ever built. i love it, and think mine is o.k. what do you think? Comment and rate please :)
About this creation

After several days of hard building, i finally emerged with this. This is the older version of my porscha with the horrible hingy bit in the middle that leaves a huge gap in the side of the car.

This is the crucial front view of the car, witht the large headlights and air scoop. The wheel arches were a real pain :(

This is the ledgendary flat-12 engine that powered the porsche to speed well over 200+mph. Later Can-Am versions of the 917 had up to 1500bhp! I was a little bit dissapointed with the hinge becuase it hardly opened.

Ahh....finally... my updated version. You will have noticed that i have changed the colour of the headlights (old ones too see-through), but most of the other details of the front profile remain unchanged. That is becuase i thought it looked cool :P

This is where the main changes are. I mounted the hinges higher up so that there wasn't a huge gap, and now...

Wait for it...(this 3/4 view hasn't changed much either)

IT OPENS!!!!!!!! Hallelujah!

Now, with the engine cover removed you can get a better view of the beefy flat-12. Those bits on the back are meant to be the gearbox. And now you get a better view of the twin-exhausts and the scaffolding-like rear structure. Now it's time for some artsy-fartsy pictures.

(with half the car removed)

(Blank prototype with doors up)

And all the family!!! I updated it AFTER I had changed the colour schemes, so they are all the old version. I need to do all the colour schemes again, but am in the middle of BIG-ish project so it will have to wait.
(livery list, from right to left: Gulf oil, salzburg (red), Salzburg (blue), red stripe (???), I have no idea (made it up).

Thank you all for reading, and dont forget to comment and rate after you have read all this gibberish, theres not much point reading it otherwise. But hey, read it anyway. MOCcy Christmas, and a happy new year!!!

Hello this is update Alex, here with an updated version of my 917. Just a quick update, in light of the recent success of my 917/30 Sunoco (see creations), and to commemorate and christen the arrival of the LDD extended edition, i made this gold 917. completely impractical, and, lets face it, not possible, it was just a bit of fun. But remember-it IS GOLD, not some other colour which you may mistake it for. Gold i tell you, gold! Doesn't look like it though...

Excellent work Alex! The only thing that needs changing is the wheels from White to black. Love all the colour variations. I'd like to see at least one of these in the Brick!

That's cool, great shaping and great details for the rather small scale! The engine is awesome! You might activate the LDD extended mode to get more colours, especially the pale blue for the Gulf version. Great job! :-))
