Sea Wolf II (WIP)
Based on the Sea Wolf from "6190 Shark's Crystal Cave".
About this creation
One of my most longed for sets as a child was the 6190 Shark's Crystal Cave. I remember looking at the Aquasharks sets in my LEGO catalog and daydreaming about how much fun it would be if I had the big set, the "leader" of the Aquasharks. Alas, it was not to be, since neither I nor my parents could afford the $50 price tag, so I had to be content with the 6135 Spy Shark and 6155 Deep Sea Predator. Even so, the many hours I spent building, re-building and playing with those sets are some of my favorite childhood memories. I was about 10 years old back then.

Fast forward to mid-December 2011. I, now an AFOL (Adult Fan Of LEGO), get struck with the idea to re-create the ship I so desired (but never had) in LEGO Digital Designer. A quick visit to for the instructions to the original set also revealed that the Aquashark's ships had actual names. In this case, the ship in 6190 Shark's Crystal Cave was called the Sea Wolf (which sounds really cool, in my opinion), and I quickly decided that the remake I was working on would be called the Sea Wolf II.

I don't think I've ever been quite as excited about a project of mine as I am about this one. The idea of being able to own one of my all-time favorite LEGO sets (albeit, my own custom version) makes me want to jump up and down and squeal with delight! I suppose that would probably be called "geeking out" over it. :)

What I'd really like to do is build the Sea Wolf II with actual bricks and then buy the original Sea Wolf so I can display them side by side. For me, they would be the crowning glory of my collection.

So now a bit about the MOC itself. I want to point out first that none of the canopy pieces from the original set were available in LDD, so for aesthetics sake, I had to improvise. I would also like to point out that I swapped out the rear storage feature in the tail so that I could build a flexible tail. (An idea of mine almost as old as the Aquashark sets themselves.)

While designing the Sea Wolf II, I felt it was missing something; it didn't look menacing enough. So I thought "Hey! Why not add torpedoes?" So that's what I did. I might have to re-design them a bit as I haven't yet used Google to search for torpedo reference photos, but I think they're probably decent enough for now.

I also want to try to find a way to have the sub arms fold out of sight, since my younger sister says she likes it better without the arms. While I don't really mind the arms all that much myself, I do think it would be neat to have them able to be tucked away when not in use.

Something else I think is worthy of note are the names of the other ships in the Aquasharks sets:

6135 Spy Shark / Aquashark Sneaker
6155 Deep Sea Predator / Aquashark Barracuda

I prefer "Spy Shark" over "Sneaker", but "Barracuda" tops "Deep Sea Predator" in my opinion.

To those who have patiently read through my lengthy description, I thank you! :) Enjoy the photos!

Quoting Maxus Tech I remember that set, good old nostalgia. For the most part, I like it, great recreation in you're own style.
"For the most part"? I'm open to making changes, so if you've got any ideas or suggestions I'd love to hear them. :)
