It's that time of year again where I chronicle the events of the past year using the Lego brick with the assistance of Wikipedia. For the most part, information should be correct on the topics. Also, I know I am leaving out other events, but do bear in mind what is posted was the (relatively speaking) easiest to build. With that said, enjoy, and here's to an even better 2012.
About this creation
January 24- 37 people were killed and 180+ others were wounded when a bombing occurred at Domodedovo International Airport in Moscow, Russia.
February 22 - March 14 – Due to concerns over Libyan oil output, crude oil costs increase by a Rainbow Dash factor (20%) over the span of two weeks, thus creating the 2011 energy crisis.
March 11 – The eastern part of Japan is rocked by a 9.1-magnitude earthquake and subsequent tsunami. In the wake of the disaster, 15,840 are dead, and another 3,926 are missing. This event also weakens the Fukushima Daiichi power plant, raising extreme concerns over a potential catastrophic reactor failure.
April 29 – Two billion or so people are said to have watched the wedding of Prince William, Duke of Cambridge and Catherine Middleton at Westminster Abbey in London.
May 1 – In a surprise raid on a compound in Pakistani territory, a team of Navy SEALS takes out
terrorist mastermind Osama Bin Laden. The event causes mass celebrations around the country, giving many people a sense of closure over the events that occurred on 9/11/01.
June 4 – 3,000+ people evacuate, and air traffic cancellations for South America, New Zealand, and Australia are put into place when Chile's Puyehue volcano erupts.
July 23- Perhaps she should have gone to rehab. Singer/songwriter Amy Winehouse is found dead at her house in Camden, London. Cause of death is ruled to be alcohol-related.
August 20–28 – In the Battle of Tripoli (part of the Arab Spring and the Libyan civil war), Libyan rebels took control the nation's capital, and overthrew Muammar Gaddafi's government.
September 11: A decade ago from the date, hijackers ran fully-loaded planes into the twin towers, as well as the pentagon, and a field in Pennsylvania, changing the course of our nation along with countless other nations, and plunging the United States and several of it's allies into a costly war on terror.
October 5: Head of apple computers, Steve Jobs loses his battle with Pancreatic cancer. His legacy lives on within each of his company's products, and will continue to do so for years to come.
While it might not be all that important to the rest of the world (unless I become famous, that is) I turned 18. Not too many build-able world events happened in November (to my knowledge), so I settled for this.
December 15 – After billions of dollars spent and thousands of lives lost, the Iraq War is formally declared to be over by The United States. Whether or not Iraq will be able to support itself in the wake of such remains to be seen, but for now, we can all be grateful that our troops will be coming home sometime soon.
Nice job! It sure is sad what happened last year.. The thing that is also really bad is that there is TAYLOR STINKING SWIFT on your iPod.. Seriously? What a waste of money.. Actually, she isn't that bad. <.<

Very Conclusive! Love it! To all I wish you a Happy New Year from SoCal. And to the bronies on this page *brohoof*. Again Love the MOC! Amazing work, amazing collab of bricks and elements to tell a story, the story of 2011.

Great MOC there, Andrew...I'm a little surprised that you put Amy Whinehouse's death in, but left out the July Norway massacre by Anders Breivik... But aside from that, Great MOC!!
No doubt that was a very tragic event, but I just didn't feel too comfortable with that story. To build a scene showing the deaths of young children... I just couldn't bring myself to build that.
Excellent work man. It just highlights some of the horrific things such as the terrorist shootings, to the great things like the end of the war in Iraq. Who knows what 2012 will bring, I hope not half the things last year brought. Anyway, awesome work.
Impressive builds! The forced perspectives and lighting really accentuate the scenes, and the superb builds are well presented. I really like how you did the volcano, the Moscow explosian, and the water in Japan. Also, congratulations on becoming an AFOL!
