No previews, no teasers, this time it's legit. It had to be eventually, right? =P I think I need a new folder titled "Omega Jumbo Scale Cars"...this is ridiculous.
About this creation
This thing took forever! Okay, not forever... 4-5 months(ish). Maybe it'd have been 3 months if I hadn't run out of white bricks. Who knows... who cares!?! It's finally done! Kind of. It's still got 2 'small' gaps in the interior. So what if they're as big as some people's entire MOC, they're miniscule at this scale! =D Anyway, I'll stop ranting in this caption, and continue in the next... =P
Shiny silver headlights
Dat quirky side view
Better side view, notice the small spoiler, flames, and giant intake. Aw Yeah!!
The back view of dignity!
"LAD", My actually nickname happens to be "The Lad", and at this scale I figured this would be a nice detail to add. And fun fact, the license plate is 4x8 studs, the average size of a 4-wide car. =P
Arsty shot, with chrome exhausts
Bird's eye view.
Seemingly nothing,... but wait!?
It's a sunroof! or moonroof if you use it at night.
Last minute antenna, at least it's in the proper spot.
Door handle locked
Door handle open!
Everything open! The trunk is sprung, the doors don't need to fight gravity, and the hood has a fold out stick-thingy. Yeah, that's totally the name for it.
Dat trunk with a wonderful (IMO) snake mosaic. Of course, it's just an effort to conserve white bricks.
A full size chincilla could probably nest in here. Mission accomlished!
A big BLOCK V8! Get it? Block? Cuz Lego's are blocks? Okay, I'll stop.
One of the cylinders and the place where a header should be. Really works, too!
Front suspension, and steering stuffs. Ironically enough, those 2 springs covers the whole front, whereas the back has like 8 and it's barely bouncy. Enough to shake the doors loose, yes, but still not bouncy enough for me.
Random windshield wiper view. Of course it has 2.
The door can see into your mind, the door can see into your SOUL! "Really?" No, jk.
Full pedals, which are all sprung to be pushed
See? Super playability! Functions eberywhere!
Reclining, sliding, snake mosaic seats. Comfy!
I told you so. =P
4speed + N gear box. Okay, I'll admit it. In real life the gears would be backwards. Going from N-4-3-2-1 might not work for a real engine. However, it works wonders when the power is reversed from Engine-to-wheels, to wheels-to-engine! Also, the parking brake barely holds. I have a solution, but no way to get to the chassis.
My favorite function of all (besides that it rolls), the glovebox! =D Open, close, open, close, open, close, open, close.... sorry.
Really steers! Of course it takes like 20 revo's of the wheel to turn the front wheels. Very heavy car indeed.
Keyhole, windshield toggle, and light toggle details.
Random view, now I needed to get really creative. Normally I can get the "money shot" just by propping the car on it's side. But these sidewalls can't take 7 lbs. of Plymouth!
This should totally work!!! =D Aren't I insane dedicated?
At this point, since I had one hand holding the whole 7 lb. car up and another hand trying to blindly get a nice view, here's a montage of what I got.
The dif. bits and exhaust pipe...
And there's the 4+N linear tranny. I now dispise linear trannies.... need... more efficiency!!! =P
And for your convienience, here's a poorly spelt list of functions:
Independant, double wishbone suspension
Front steering from steering wheel
Working manual 4 speed + neutral transmission
Working V8 with moving cylinders and timing belt
Opening hood, doors, trunk, sunroof
Adjustable front seats
Working door handles
Come to think of it, I could have added a gas cap.... NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!... Maybe someday...
"The door can see into your soul-l-llll" Ahhhh, I'm glad I'm not the only one that watches Filmcow. ;D MOC? Ah, yes, a MOC....and then some. It's MA-HOOSIVE, I could live in that thing. Awesome functions, and a great paint job too! Top work, SC!
I've been meaning to comment on this for a while, but I didn't know what to say - this literally left me speechless.... So, um, I guess I'll go with "Ravishingly beautiful" eh? But in all seriousness, fantastic model and congrats on the spot on the homepage!
OK, now that is just insane, like that guy with the 22 foot long Yamato, though I think I like this more because you can actually pick it up and play with it. Nice job on all the details, it just blows my mind that people can actually make LEGO gear boxes. I'm sure it is possible, but hard to comprehend. Great paint job too.
Yeah, you've finally finished it and posted it! This car is amzing. First of all its BIIIIG, but it has so many functions to play with, too. My favourite detail is the working sunroof! The shaping is great, too. This one is really your masterpiece! Great job! :-))
Meh, I mean, it's not that good. The presentation is horrible...Okay, I lied - big time! It's amazing! It's amazingly built! I love that color scheme! You're insane - building at such a HUGE scale! *sniff* I thought I was brave when I built my McLaren. You're more than brave! Gee, 7lbs? You must be mad! That's er...like 5 of my 16-wide cars. Wait, I only have 3 cars that size at the moment. :( Oh, and by the way, I suppose you haven't got around to ironing you sheets. Hahaha...And as always, excellent work, and keep it up (and the studs! Hahaha)!
Wow i'm in awe of your skills and your collection! This thing is spectacular, it makes the Mog wheels look small lol So many cool things to see. I love the radio, and the steering wheel, pedals, seats, amazing V8 and that snake in the back looks like a blue swan i could go on and on and.... lol Well done you talented little chinchilla. Now off to the jungle. I've got a load of monkeys and parrots that would like to live there!
I LIKE: the gears, and oh my you used the unimog wheels. I LOVE: the colors, the steering wheel, the snakes, the front, the rear, the full stud work, the blower, ... I WOULD have liked to see : more WIP-pictures :-P
No this is epic: in scale, in detail, in result. Congrats!
Holy mother of Pearl this is EPIC! Well where do I start. Every aspect of this car oozes talent. You are truly one of the most talented and creative builders on this site. I really mean that. The technical expertise and attention to detail is stunning. You have even managed to portray your personality with this moc. It is full of craziness. The engine, radio and paint job are my favourite parts. I am also loving the wildlife in the trunk.
AY. MAY. ZING! This is such an epic creation. It looks superb, and at this scale you can (and have) included some brilliant functions. I'd still like to see inner wheel arches (why does everyone forget them?!) but nevertheless it's a cracking start to 2012. Awesome awesome job. 10/10, plus another 1 'cos it's so huge, so 11/10 : )
