About this creation
Well people, this is my first jet fighter. Its design was loosely based on the Grumman F-14 Tomcat. I was going to make it VTOL capable, but complications on how I was going to rotate the engines arose and maddened me to the point where I said screw it and slapped them on statically. This is a future generation jet (7-8 or so) designed by BlackWater for use by the AAF (Andoran Air Force). It has a top speed of mach 5.1 and can pull a 5 G manuver going over mach 2 demonstrating that it is one of the most, if not the most agile fighter in current production anywhere on the planet.
New, lets get into the pictures.

The two pilots are out next to the plane to say hi, I think...

The left side of the plane, I can't think of much I want to say about it, but its still pretty cool in my opinion.

The right side of the plane, I still can't think of much to say...

My Tandem-Seat cockpit. Only one of the cockpit pieces lifts up, the other is, well... non-movable.
----------------------------------------------------------
I had very early on in the build decided that it would have variable-sweep wings, and I'm really happy with the way they turned out.

Wings open.

Wings closed.

I had a few issues with the nose cone, but I worked them out in a few minutes. I had to add the 1x1 side stud pieces (I don't know if thats what their called, but it seemed familiar) with the small slanted bricks to account for the size difference in the end of the nose and where I would attach the cone.

The middle-ish section of the plane, I don't know why but the yellow stripe is my favorite part.

There were a few issues with building the air intake, but the solution turned out to far simpler that I had though it would be.

A picture of the air intake taken apart, to show off its simplicity.

Just a close up picture of the wing.

By the time I started getting towards the back and the bottom, I was running out of pieces besides the ones I specifically set out for the rear stabilizers.

The engines. I already had these jet engines from a Star Wars set I had bought earlier in the year, and they fit perfectly so I said "What the hell" and put them in.
----------------------------------------------------------
Now were getting towards the underbelly of the plane. I was really running out of parts by the time I got the the bottom, so its not the best crafted.

I had a few issues with the rear landing gear, I finally settled on this but I wish I had the parts to go and rework it.

Landing gear open.

The main landing gear, I also had issues with this one. Not because I was running out of parts, I did this fairly early on in the build, but because i had issues trying to get it to fit in the small area in the nose.

This landing gear is also open.

The entire bottom, meh...

Well, th, the, th-th-th, the, tha, thats all folks.

Excellent! I also love the sweeping wings! Nice cockpit design as well. Very nice work on the landing gear as well, those parts are sometimes difficult to get to look right and fit in with the rest, at least for me. All in all, a project very well done! |

Great design. I can see a mix of F-14 and F-22 with the main body, and a little bit of MiG-29 with the engine configuration. |

Epic! That's one of the best jets in the group! The whole shape is nice, and the air intake design is interesting, never would'eve thought of it. Also, good work on the moving wings. And I can see the similarities with the Tomcat. Keep up the great work! |
