Here it is, folks. The backbone of the Imperial Fleet. The icon of Imperial space power. Arguably the best warship ever created (in my own little universe). And no, it's not an X-Wing.
Why is the Galanvir-class Assault cruiser such a big deal? Because it's resource efficient. Sure, it costs more than a Destroyer, and sure, it doesn't back the wallop of a Strategic Battlecruiser, but in terms of bang for your buck, the Galanvir outdoes them all. It's a 3.2km long jack of all trades, pretty good at just about everything. Even making breakfast.
It is the smallest warship to feature an Arcane Spacetime Destabilization Field GMP. Think of it as a cross between a Stargate's Kawoosh and the giant Subspace Ship's death beam from Super Smash Brothers Brawl. Essentially, it disintegrates everything it hits. It's cool. Additionally, it comes equipped with an array of disruptor GMP's of both the beam and pulse flavors, a number of missile launchers, and several turrets. It's respectably fast, can take a significant beating before being overwhelmed, and can carry a bunch of stuff to boot. This particular ship carries 4 little gunships and a larger troop lander, as well as a large complement of fighters, in the hangar bay-studded neck section.
This ship class is particularly dear to me because it's the first ship I built after my dark ages; it's the ship that got me back into Lego. While the iteration from that cold weekend in my freshman year of college has been dismantled and the only photographs of it lost in an unfortunate phone death, I hope you find this latest version enjoyable.
Excellent design! I love the extra mini ships. When I first glanced at it, I thought it was an X-Wing but as I looked at it more, I realized how different and fantastic it looked. Great job! If you have a free moment, could you provide some advice on how to make my Flying Rhino better?
