Another tribute to Mark Stafford's ADU Viper Plus and Raid VPR.
About this creation
If Mark Stafford ever sees my last few MOCs he's going to think I'm stalking him.
This was clearly inspired by Mark's official ADU Viper and his privately created ADU Viper Plus, although it didn't start out that way. It began as an upsizing of the Raid VPR (set #5981, also created by Mark), hence the name. It's all a bit sordid really - apologies if you ever read this Mark.
I've also wanted to build an R9-alike (R-Type) for ages, but there are so many Vic Viper tributes around that I thought I'd start there first.
Anyway, I like to think it has enough of its own character to stand alone. I certainly enjoyed building it.
I built the stand to display it nose-down, but it also displays it nose-up if I'm feeling adventurous:
Here are a couple of stand shots, because I'm inordinately proud of my stand!
The wings fold down. I suppose this could be launch mode, although really it's just a serendipitous means of displaying it without the stand (it falls over backwards if the wings are in their flight position!).
The black underside is a symptom of my shortage of space parts - I only rediscovered space lego in the last six months or so.
Detail shots of some of the ordnance mounted to the wings:
And finishing up with some shots of the rear:
As usual, I hope you enjoyed it. I'd love to hear what people think.

Awesome design, (from some awesome inspiration, I might add, but back to your work). The colors are great and you used some very effective greebling techniques. The cockpit was especially creative.
Thanks Tim, great comments! Gotta have a comfortable cockpit...
