In 1138 PH (Post Hyperdrive), Revalt Hyper Systems released their Armor Frame mk 3, which the Cerulean Army and Marine Corps purchased and fielded as the HM-03 Durandel.
As has become standard for modern combat systems, the Durandel is extremely customizable for multiple mission roles. The configuration pictured above is the assault package, with twin Gauss rifles and shoulder-mounted long-range missiles. The unit is also carrying the Steiner MC-6 Mecha Carbine.
The Durandel's pilot rides in a comfortable cabin that provides a .25g field — no matter the gravity outside, the pilot experiences a relaxing sensation almost akin to swimming. The neutral buoyancy increases the effectiveness of the pilot's neural interface, and provides an additional level of protection from kinetic injury by dampening any transferred energy (a process many weapons physicists describe as "robbing Einstein to pay Newton").
Unlike the Kraznovian Panther VII, the Durandel's artillery package does not require secondary towers for fire control and power generation. Entirely self-contained, the Markham Fire Control "Pulse" Artillery system has a 90 km range and can act in virtually any fire support role.
The Durandel's ELINT package uses phased-array radar, LIDAR, and millimeter-wave radar in addition to a host of passive signal-gathering processors.
The Cerulean Imperial Army and Navy: standing on watch to protect you from the Kraznovian threat!
OOC Note: Once again I have gleefully repurposed a LegoRobo design, in this case the AF3.
Its a tad bit cluttered visually, but overall I really like this style of mecha MOC. A nice middle weight figure size with great pose-ability AND can fit a minifigure pilot. I also love the hint of Armored Core themes that I see in this as well.
Wow, this is excellent. I disagree with the comment about smoothing it over, this thing looks mean and seriously realistic. Not outrageously huge, just the right size. Love the weaponry, and also your pilot choice :D
