About this creation

Two Days Later…

“We’re coming up to the co-ordinates now sir.” A Captain told Blast as he walked through the door onto The Manipulator’s bridge.
“Very good Captain.”

After leaving Wayland two days ago, the U.R.S. had hurtled through hyperspace towards Ambria and were now zooming across the planet towards their destination.

Blast walked to the main viewing window and looked out at the dusty planet below.

“And I thought Wayland was bad.” Flare muttered as he came up behind him. Flare had spent the days since they left getting to know everyone better and finding out about precisely what they did.
“It’s just a giant dustball.” Blast said shaking his head. “Why the republic would want us to meet them here I don’t know.”

Ambria was a small barren planet in the Inner Rim. There were only a few settlements spread across the whole planet but those settlements were quite busy and well populated. It was one such of these settlements that The Manipulator was now headed towards.

“Sir, We’ve arrived at the co-ordinates that High Commander Charge gave us.” The Captain told Blast and Flare as the ship slowly lowered and touched down on the outskirts of what appeared to be a small desert town.
“Are you sure Captain?” Blast checked frowning out of the window. “Because I see no ship and I see no troops.”
“Yes sir. I can’t see any ships or troops either, but these are the exact co-ordinates.”

“Hm… Thank you Captain.” Blast turned to Flare as the Captain saluted and walked off.
“This is too suspicious. Why would the Republic send us here then not turn up?”
“I don’t know sir. It seems suspicious to me too.”
Blast thought for a moment. “I’m going to go into the town and see if anyone knows anything about it.” Blast turned and started to walk along the central walkway. “That is if anyone there speaks basic.”

About half an hour later, Blast was walking across the dry landscape towards a large gap inbetween two buildings at the edge of the town, with Flare walking beside him. He’d been to tell the other leaders what he was going to do and Flare had offered to accompany him.
They walked through the gap into what appeared to be a town square.

There were buildings on three of the sides, all three stories tall and the fourth side of the square was made up of an old stone wall covered in moss. There were other entrances to the square inbetween the buildings. Just to Blast and Flare’s right was a café with tables and chairs outside. Nearly every table was occupied. In fact the town was incredibly busy. The whole square was bustling with people going about daily life. People sat in and outside the café, people just passed through, others collected water from a small fountain in the middle of the square.
The side of the square to Blast’s left was covered in market stalls selling wares of all kinds both everyday and unusual.

The two U.R.S. leaders walked around the café’s tables and chairs

and chairs and man in a large-brimmed hat sitting at one of them watched them go from behind his newspaper.

“This doesn’t feel right.” Blast muttered as the pair stopped near the middle of the square. “Nobody here is going to know anything about republic forces.”
“I agree sir.” Flare said as they looked around at all the people and the buildings.
“You know, you don’t have to call me sir all the time.” Blast told him, still looking around for anyone who looked like they might know anything about the new Republic forces.

“I don’t like this. Let’s go.” Blast suggested but just as they started to move towards the way they had come in, the man in the big hat with the newspaper suddenly leapt up and produced two blasters and fired at them.

“Move!” Blast shouted and shoved Flare behind the fountain then dived after him. Lasers chipped away at the stonework of the fountain as the crowds screamed and ran all over the place trying to escape the shootings.
“Who the…?” Flare started but then they both had to drop to the floor as a shot from a completely new angle flew past their heads followed by another from yet another angle.

“Shit.” Blast muttered and peered out towards the original shooter. The man grabbed his hat and yanked it off letting it drop to the floor; Iadsgb.

“Oh great.” Blast pulled back and looked at Flare. “Iadsgb.” He said simply but then another laser hit the fountain just in between their heads.
“Move!” Blast shouted and the pair darted out

and ran across the square towards a row of thick stone pillars at the base of the building next to the café.

Blast spun to a stop behind the first one with his back to it and Flare did the same on the next pillar along.
“What do we do sir?” Flare asked.

“WILL YOU STOP CALLING ME SIR!” Blast said firmly in annoyance as more lasers flew past their hiding spot from many different angles and made holes in the wall of the building. “Um… I don’t know. We…” Blast was cut off by a laser from yet another angle narrowly missing his head. “RUN!” he shouted and the pair charged up the narrow passage between the pillars and the building.

They dodged and ducked the continuous flow of lasers flying towards them from the square that either hit the pillars or whizzed between them and struck the wall. “Head for that door!” Blast called as they ran but then…
“Argh!” his legs were taken out from beneath him and he crashed to the floor inbetween two pillars.

Using his arms he hauled himself to the next pillar along where there was a stack of crates and stopped to check his leg. There was a trail of blood trickling out from a bullet hole.

“Damn.” He cursed as he crawled along then got up as much as he could and stumbled along after Flare who had now got his blaster out and was firing randomly out between the pillars as they ran, covering Blast.

“C’mon.” Blast urged as they got nearer to the open door.
Suddenly Flare shouted in pain, grabbed his arm and ducked down.

They continued to run but then a stack of wooden crates unexpectedly exploded nearby sending slivers and shards of wood flying in all directions.

The pair was showered in splinters but just then they reached the open door and dived in.
