Ladies and gentlemen! (who am I kidding - gentlemen!) Today I give you the Borealis class scout craft based on the successful design of the Aurora class scout by Mr. Adrian Majkrzak (can be found at www.twitchfinger.com) Enjoy!
About this creation
The main and only armament consists of a pair of light high-velocity autocanons, because the original trio of laser canons was a bit too expensive and because scout missions are a dangerous bussines, the losses of some recklessly dispatched scouting parties lead to a minor financial crisis in the Air Force.
The high-speed atmospheric flight is enabled by a pair of powerful jet engines located in the back of the fuselage itself, while a boost of speed and possibly a brief spaceflight is provided by the solid fuel rocket engines in the wing pods.
When landed, the wings fold up to spare some precious room in the hangar and to facilitate refueling and reloading of the main guns.
The landing gear is fully retractable and hides into the fuselage, while the front is covered by the panel to lower air resistance at supersonic speeds.
Well, that's it for today, hope at least some of you liked it, and if you did, please leave a comment below. Díky! (FYI that's Thanks in Czech, in case you wonder...)
