F-Zero machine 07: Blue Falcon. This micro scale racer was one I just had to try; it's not any Blue Falcon in particular, more a version inspired by all the Blue Falcons in the series and tries to capture the feel of the machine rather than be an accurate recreation.
About this creation
The cockpit is still the bit I'm least happy with as the plague of the absent black roof tiles strikes again. I did try several versions with 1x1 'cheese wedges' and so forth but they didn't gel and just looked like I was trying too hard so I went back to the single roof brick and one of the few occasions I've ever seen medium grey passable as glass.
The rear end is much better and the light blue bit harks back to the original No. 111 Blue Falcon from the SNES so I pleased to fit that feature in. There was a lot of figuring out to make the body and the snot back-end work together so I'm really happy with it.
A side view. No excuse for not capturing the angular nature of the No. 07 Blue Falcon, what this being lego.
The rear section without the 'exhaust' attached.
Here's the body detail, it's one of those designs that uses lots of 1x1 with 1 knob bricks. Or in my case, 1x1 technic bricks with stud clips in them : )
Thanks for viewing, hope you enjoyed it. Please check out my other Nintendo work: Dr. Stewart's Ride and an Arwing. I'm hoping to start work on some F-zero track to bring this and the Golden Fox together as a set piece.
