When the "Tropical Paradise" category was released, I immediately knew that there would be an influx of Palm tree and beach themed entries.
I decided to go for a slightly different option and build a Japanese garden inspired by one my family goes to while in Hawaii.
While a palm-tree and beach paradise may be good for some people, I've always found a quieter, more peaceful paradise to fit my style better.
So I built this, a Japanese styled garden as my "place of serenity and beauty. It may not be normal for a paradise, it's what I think about when I think of a place I'd like to go in the dead of winter.
The beautiful swan leading a flock of newly hatched chicks.
Well, this one was fun.
Basing my ideal tropical paradise off of a Japanese garden near me, I found that it's really enjoyable to build small pagodas and beautiful scenery once in a while.
Kudos to my team for making me rebuild the Strata underneath the pathways once I had finished the entire build and photographed it. This was one build where my teammates kept shooting ideas and critiques at me to use specific parts that I didn't have.
That happened multiple times and I had to rework their ideas using parts that I DID have.
Also, the swan took many hours to build, enjoy it please.
Such a headache...
That is really... really nice. I would love to be somewhere like that. And I liked your take on the category (still in Hawaii, so "tropical" but not your "normal" destination there). Score of 4 ~ Chris.

Though, Japan is not in the tropics, therefore not deeming it tropical, correct?
I'm not sure.
Build a tropical paradise you'd rather be vacationing at. Will it be a tourist hot spot or a deserted island? It's up to you, with no size restrictions, and as always the more detailed and creative you are....the bigger the points! Bring some beauty and warmth to those of us who are shoveling snow!
