The rebuild of an awesome but previously lousily-built weapon.
About this creation
The WAGA-DST (Wide Area Gravity Amplifier - Decisive Strike Tool), generically referred to as the "G-Shock Hammer", is one of the most powerful weapons in the Mobile Armor System arsenal.
In any war between two intelligent and cunning forces, victory goes to the ones with the best weapons. To date, there is no better weapon than gravity. Black holes remain testament to that fact.
The G-Shock Hammer stimulates and amplifies the local Higgs field, producing an intensified, uni-directional gravitational wave capable of overwhelming and crushing anything in its vicinity that isn't made of the most durable and dense substances in the universe.
Considering this, it's hardly accurate to call the WAGA-DST an actual hammer as the emitter head never touches the target and, in fact, can't be used as an actual hammer.
Well, it can. You'd just have to repair the emitter head after battle as that thing is going to look like hell.
Due to its incredible destructive might, the MAS Division can only deploy it under explicit permission of the Japanese Prime Minister and, if warring elsewhere in the world, the additional permission of the acting high official of the locale. It's not a matter of red tape, though. The Prime Minister holds the deactivation key for the hammer's safety device. Without the PM relieving the safety, the hammer will not engage. This policy ends up being redacted later on.
The hammer is modular in nature, to allow easy repair and room for expansion/improvement. The larger head is the emitter. The smaller head is a counter-weight that provides no additional functionality. It's also aesthetically pleasing.
Sometime during the middle of the war, the counterweight is replaced with a second emitter head. It was reasoned that if the primary head were damaged in battle, the hammer would be useless until repaired. By giving it a second emitter, the longevity of the hammer is increased.
This particular arm is a requirement to use the hammer. Due to safety regulations imposed by the PM and his cabinet, the hammer not only has to be relieved before use but must be used by this particular arm attachment as well.
Similar to how certain PC games require a constant Internet connection otherwise DRM kicks you out, trying to use the hammer without the arm will produce no functionality. This was deemed necessary to prevent the hammer from being used on the battlefield by an opponent.
Curiously, the hammer is apparently capable of self-detonating. Possibly, this is an additional security feature in the event of enemies stealing it.
The old hammer was ugly. The new one is beautiful. This is my favorite weapon yet.
No pictures of it being wielded by anything since the NS-MAS isn't finished and Stardrive Hub can't interface with the arm.
