Sikorsky USCG HH-60 Jayhawk
My Sikorsky USCG HH-60 Jayhawk Rescue Chopper.
About this creation

Hey, I finally got my act together and got something else posted.

This is a Sikorsky Corporation United States Coast Guard HH-60 Jayhawk, a rescue chopper based on the SH-60 Seahawk, which is in turn developed from the well known Black Hawk Down star, the MH-60 Black Hawk. That was a long sentance, huh? Anyway, these things are well known heroes here in Alaska, roaming the skies to rescue those in peril. Alaska has the greatest concentration of Jayhawks, with three at Sitka and four more at Kodiak. A big orange and white Jayhawk chopping overhead while trolling the big blue for kings or riding the ferries of the Alaska Marine Highway is a well known sight for many of us. The three choppers in Sitka and one from Kodiak pulled off what is arguably the most daring rescue in history, the saving of the crew of the FV LeConte from the frigid thirty degree waters of the Fairweather Ground.

Anyway, enough about the real one, the chopper's not all that detailed, though that's my brother (Michael)'s fault cause he built a lot of it. Take the doors for example, the one on the right doesn't exist in real life and the one on the other side slides outside the craft, not inside. He entirely left out the interior seating and the winch is actually on the outside above the door, but neither of us realized it at the time. There's a hardpoint with some sort of sensor package on each side, just below door-level that we never built as well. It's pretty blocky, so we just might pull it apart and smooth it up sometime; And then...

What's that, you're about to rip my arms off from impatience? Interesting, I am suddenly very motivated to show you the pictures!

It's really hot but you need to recise a little bit the nose to make it more like the real Black Hawk. Good job anyways. Come see my page!

Hi Jack, thanks for your reviews, and for the A-10 video! Anyway, nice Jayhawk-its certainly recognizeable. Its unfortunate you didn't incorporate all the details you mentioned, but that doesn't detract much from the model. I love the colors! Alex. PS when is your A-10 going to be finished?

Good, but like you said, I forgot to make you do the single starboard sliding door, exterior winch, sensor pods, seating, folding tail, etc. Not bad though... ~ Michael
