I know I haven't posted in a while... and by "a while" I mean at least half a year. Oh well.
DOS=Disk Operating System
Argh, I just looked at the preview and saw that I didn't set the pics at "large". I'm too lazy to fix it, so here. Look at the pictures from right to left, once you finish with the left one, go to the right one on the next row down. You shouldn't have much trouble figuring out the corresponding picture/text.
About this creation
So, here is a nice display-able vignette-ish thing. It depicts GLaDOS, everyone's favorite homicidal supercomputer, in a wreck after the events of the video game Portal. For all those who don't know. If you don't, this may be a boring MOC to you and you should leave. Anyway, here's the model:
Wide shot. Note the base, I'll get to that l8r.
Close up of GLaDOS herself. Yes, I lit up her eye. It isn't quite the effect I wanted, but it works.
Here's some of the shrubbery and dilapidation of the central AI chamber.
Back view. Note the broken scaffolding (in the middle, not the sides) and switch.
Side-ish back-ish view.
The upper part. I don't really like how this looks, but it works.
Here's some more ugly supports. Bleh.
I see you.
The battery box fits under the stand, although not very well.
How the upper DOS fits into the tire support thingy. I like how I managed to thread all the basic Power Functions wires throughout the DOS and to the GL.
One side of the stand. This features an Aperture Science Sentry Turret. (Aka "turret")
Another side. With an Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device. (Aka "Portal Gun")
Final side with a Aperture Science Weighted Storage Cube. (Aka "box")
Ugly back side, with an Aperture Science Annoyingly Humungous Power Storing Vessel. (Aka "Battery Box")
Only a true Portal maniac will know what this is. Post a comment about it if you do.
That's all for now. I have a ton more Portal(2)-related MOCs to post, including a life-sized ASHPD and a few test chambers. No guarantee that I'll post more often, though.
Thanks for looking at this! Comments are appreciated!
Hoopie! I was confused as to which text was referring to which picture at first, but I figured it out eventually. I like the base, with the sentry turret and ASHPD. It has a really dilapidated feel and great atmosphere. 5/5!
