Story:Mongle was an average matoran, until one day the makuta raided and captured his entire village. There was a special purpose to this mission, and that was to collect test subjects for experiments. Mongle was tested to see if they could make giants out of small matoran. They injected chemicals into Mongle, and he did grow, but not as big as the giant titans teridax was expecting (for Mongle was only about the size of an average toa). Mongle was then to be burned in the makuta incinerator, when the toa broke into the makuta compound. The toa rescued Mongle, thinking he was a toa based on his size. When the toa took him back to headquarters, he explained to them that he wasnít a toa, but just a matoran. The toa order the decided to dump the mutated matoran in the street. Appalled by the toeís decision, and fascinated by the little matoran, Toa Talonmagic trained the overgrown matoran as his personal apprentice. Mongle had to make up for not having an elemental power with shear brute strength and weapon skills. After much training with his master, Mongle was brought before the toa counsel to become a real toa. After much debate on the counsel, it was agreed that Mongle become a toa. Since Mongle had no element, he was referred to as the toa of steel, since he had exceptional skill with his axe and other weapons. Despite his acceptance into the toa order, other toa made fun of him because of his lack of an element. Talonmagic took care of toa that did this, and from that point on never let Mongle out his sight, and made him his constant companion. Mongle was outfitted with an Axe, and multi-tool gauntlets which include hidden knives and repulsive blasters. Also, needed for a lack of a mask, Mongle was also outfitted with somewhat of a horn, similar to that of a rhino that he could charge people with. Since Mongle was now and forever Talonís brother and apprentice, wherever Talon went he went. After the formation of spherus magna, The duo was ultimately tuned. Mongle with his brute strength and giant axe, and Talon with his speed and agility. The two were now a force to be reckoned with. Together, they joined many toa teams in ridding the new world of the makuta. At first, it seems as though they could do it, but then the worse happened. The remains of the makuta formed a new brotherhood, and the first village they attacked was Valki nui, a critical village in the toa order, for it supplied the whole order with everything. The village was so well hidden they decided it didnít need a toa team, until the makuta nearly destroyed the village. This was known as the disaster of Valki nui. When Talon was drafted to the Toa Valki, he insisted that they let Mongle in as well. The order had no argument, and so it was then that Mongle was put into the Valki as well. He still defends the city with his life and honor, along with the rest of The toa Valki.
After many vigorious months of rebuilding and protecting the pillaged but regrowing city of Valki Nui, Mongle began to wonder if he would ever gain any power over any element. After seeing the other members of the Toa Valki, more recently Dach, weilding their elemtal powers, Mongle started to feel left out, if not a little jealous. He asked his mentor, Toa Talonmagic, if he could journey back to the Toa Order to seek further training and teaching. Talon agreed, but on the condition that Mongle hurry back, for his brute strength was very much needed on the feild of battle. Mongle then journeyed back to the Toa Order.
Once Mongle arrived, he was greeted and welcomed, as well as questioned on the situation in Valki Nui. After their initial greetings, Mongle inquired on how he could gain control over an element, despite the fact that he had no initial control over one. The members of the toa council all looked at each other, nodded, and then told Mongle there is one way. They have never used it before, since no one like Mongle had ever come along to the order. The process they told him of was enchanting: Taking a regular, powerless being, such as Mongle, and through spells, incantations, and magic, give him power over one or more elements, but only slightly. He still couldn't cause fire to rain down from the heavens, or conjure a whirlwind, nothing that extreme. They also told of the beings who carry this out, known as the Council of The Six Elemtents. They then led Mongle to a Hexagonal room. From each side of the room, six beings appeared, each robed in the color of their element. One for ice, one for water, one for earth, one for stone, one for air, and one for fire. Together they began mumbling their spells, and as they did, Mongle felt his body itch and tingle. After many minutes, the council's incantation was finished. As soon as they stopped speaking, Mongle felt a pain come over his body like none he had experienced before. The pain was everywhere, and eventually Mongle passed out.
When he awoke, he found himself lying on the floor of the same room he was in before he passed out. To his releif, when he sat up he felt no pain. However, around his neck lay a glowing yellow jewel. He went to take it off, but a voice said, "I wouldn't do that if I were you." It was the Being of Fire from the council, and he began to tell Mongle how during the cantation something went wrong. They had to draw the incantation out of his body, which was not an easy task at all. When they drew the incantation from his body, they took some of his being with it. They then put the incantation into the gem that now hung around Mongle's neck. If he took it off, a part of his being would leave him, which would render him dead. Mongle thanked the fire councilman for saving his life, but then asked how he could use the elemental power storred in the little gem. The Coucilman explianed to him how now it would be more difficult now to draw the power out from another object than it would be if it was just in his body. He told him that it would take months, perhaps years, to fully learn how harness the elemental power storred in the gem. Mongle then told the being that he didn't have much time before he had to head back to Valki Nui to retake his post. The Councilman of fire thought for awhile, and then he finally noticed that Mongle did not wear a real mask. That's when He gave Mongle the Kanohi Igraius, which enabled Mongle to learn in weeks what would noramlly take him months. They then began his extensive training. After days of hard work drawing out the energy from the gem, Mongle began to feel very weak, and wondered if he could continue the training. The Council then inbedded a twin gem into his axe, which would enable him to draw the energy with much less effort. It worked, and soon Mongle began weilding his newfound elemntal powers with ease. Before leaving to return back to Valki Nui, he handed in his multi-tool gauntlets, saying, pointing his gem around his neck, "this is the only weapon I'll ever need!"
When he returned home, he showed Talon his newfound powers, and Talon in turn clapped him on the shoulder and congratulated him. Now Mongle not only weilds his deadly axe, but all six elemental powers. Now, more than before, he is a force to be recconed with!!
Wow, that was a mouthful!! Now, Onto the MOC!!
Oh, and did I mention he has an armored-over heartlight?
You Shall Not PASS!!!!!
Well, ther you have it!! After seeing the first Mongle so many times, I couldn't help but feeling that I didn't work as hard as I had liked on it. Now that it's summer, I had all the time in the world to revamp him. I mostly focused on getting the black out of the color scheme, as well as new legs, since the old ones were horridly ugly. I also spent a lot of time thinking of the new addition to his story. Hoped you guys liked it! Can't wait for the next round of the Bio-Cup!! Till next time!!
I really like the weapon and the fact that you had a simple color scheme (So many of them are too odd, large, or just don't work). Two suggestions are maybe change the head and show that the torso is custom. The armor there covers the whole thing up
