The most advanced member of the Hero Factory team, Rocka, is ready for his newest mission!
About this creation
After a very long break from MOCpages, I finally got around to make a few new MOCs and take pictures of them, yay! And as you might could expect, I continue my series Hero Factory revamps.
Rocka, the leader of the new team (which I'll call the Gamma Team from now on) is equipped with a powerful arm cannon and an energy shield.
However, that is not all!
He can also...
...a lion, to hunt villains down with the wild and raw strength of a lion!
Instead of creating just a hero with an animal motif, I decided to give Rocka the ability to actually turn into an animal. His robot form is obviously inspired by his new Breakout version.
A different look on the lion.
The back of the lion.
A detail of his side.
I admit that Rocka's lion mode is not the best transformation ever. He's way to bulky for an actual lion, and his robot arms are somewhat obvious since they don't go anywhere inside of him but just hang underneath him.
Now to his robot mode! If you compare that picture with the ones above you'll notice that I kinda forgot how to properly fold the lion legs in his back pack.
A detail of his shoulder. Rocka got another small limb piece there which gives him shoulder articulation. It's necessary to get the arms at least to some degree stored into his body (he lacks armour on his upper arms for the same reason).
I suppose the arm cannon uses the same design as Evo's, but I can't say for sure since I don't own Evo. I couldn't use the crossbow because of the transformation.
The shield was a bit tweaked, both because of the transformation and for a more dynamic design.
Rocka got unfortunately a huge kibble backpack, mostly made from his front legs. The spine-like thing in the middle is his lion tail.
A side view in robot mode.
And for the end, a nice pose with his pals Nex and Evo.
And that's Rocka. The challenging part of his transformation was the design of parts wich would switch around during transformation. That's also the reason (just for example) why all parts of armour cladding on his robot legs show forward. I admit he's not perfect in terms of being a transformer (with visible robot parts in beast mode and huge kibble backpack in robot mode), but I still like him.
