Hiya you crazy monkeys, long time no MOC. This is my entry for the "Song of Ages" contest hosted by Josh the bee and some other guy (He used to be Cade, but now he goes by Cosmo or something)
Anyways, the song I picked is the Icelandic alternative folk band, Of Monsters and Men's "Little Talks"
I actually only made about half of the song, as an approaching deadline, excessive laziness, and a sudden shortage of ideas have forced me to cut it short.
Try to at least somewhat enjoy :P
Originality: 19. Quality: 18. Creativity: 20. Overall interpretation: 20. Some of the editing needed a little work, and that unfortunately brought you down a few points. I'd agree with Josh that you had a lot to work with but you didn't live up to all the expectations. Still a good concept, though, with the forced perspective and that boat/blimp thingy. Total score: 77.
Your score is as follows:
Overall Interpretation- 17
Solid entry. The vintage borders and whatnot really were a good idea. Needless to say, though, not one of your stronger builds, which was what brought you down. I also thought that you had a very interesting video to work off of, what with all the crazy monsters and shizz, but you kept it a bit...well 'normal'. But again, solid entry.
A lot of work and effort went into this, I can see photo-editing this was a challenge, specially when it comes to those chains, it must have been a pain. About the buildings (MOCs), brilliant! Great atmosphere and good job on the choices for colors. On a side note, I miss your castles man!
Well my first comment seems to have been lost in the filter or something. Maybe it will pop up eventually, but in case it doesn't: Nice work Ru! I've also recently visited your Flikr photo-stream, us MOC folk are really missing out on some quality stuff!! Your Seaside Sanctuary is gorgeous! Anyhow, best of luck to you and Annie in the competition.
I didn't know Heath played the trumpet!? Just kidding...okay that was lame, I'm sorry. Anyhow, a nice set of builds and figs Ru! By the way, I was looking at your Flikr photo-stream the other day: WE'RE MISSING OUT ON A LOT OF QUALITY MOCs HERE ON THE PAGES!! Some of those builds you've done lately are absolutely stupendous! Just thought I'd let you know. =D Well that said, good luck to you and Annie in the contest!
Neat floating rocks, but I do not get it why people always extend the equatorial area on the ball twechnique making it look like a stubby cucumber. And it seems you have made it even stubbier, so it is not even a cucumber any more. A trick how to make an elipsoid: multiply all of the layers in one dimension by two or three, depending on the shape you want. You can also make an aerodynamic droplet shape by multiplying layers by two on front half and three in the back, that kind of works for small blimps.
A very good entry! You shouldn't be so...hopeless about it. I've never heard the song before so I plan on listening to it after I finish typing this. Best of luck mate! Nice to see you're still building :)
