This is my first original Lego creation. It is 12 studs across and 30 plates high, it is mounted on a small base. It is tri-color (blue, yellow, white).
This is a fun model to assemble, you'll need just over 500 Lego's and it will be about the size of a baseball.
I am a professional Geographer, so I think this model is a pretty decent representation given the size of the model and the medium used.
My model was displayed at the Virginia Brick Fair 2012. You may notice that there is a mistake in my model photo, I inadvertently merged Cuba with South America. The design file has the correct layout.

Cool little creation! Did you work on this on digital designer?
I did use digital designer. First I created the structure (the globe shape in a single color) in digital designer, then the color pattern... after that, I constructed the physical globe and mimic'd the layout in my final digital design file. Fairly tedious and probably not the most efficient, but it did the trick.
