It has been a while since I build a 1:22 scaled truck, and it has been even longer since I build a classic American cabover truck.
The owner of the Bricks4all chromeshop (www.bricks4all.nl) showed me these experimental Technic panels in chromed version, and then the inspiration for this combo was there.
It is a classic milk trailer (late 80's - early 90's) with a Kenworth K100 cabover to it. The Kenworth is a custom ride, long wheel base, lowered and fully tricked out. It has full functionality and a nice chromed Detroit Diesel 8V92 engine.
the tractor is fab, but, you should aknowlege that the trailer tank is nt to scale, although it s not your fault in any way, you came as close as it was possible, hopefully, lego will release a better suited part in the future, the chrome + your talent make this piece incredible!
Why do I need to comment and rate? Everyone knows the truck is EPIC, the chrome ROCKS, and if you could rate higher then 5 out of five I would give it a 5,000,000,000,000/5 or even more! How do your creations keep getting awesomer and more realistic? =o)
Don't ask :-)
But it is not that extreme. For the last years I have arranged the chrome myself and work together with Bricks4all.nl
We chrome big batches industrially which is much cheaper for a volume user like myself, then buying all through Bricklink. Besides that it is as far as i know the only shop that uses the 'oplating on plastics' technology to truly chrome the part, and not use spray based techniques. The chrome on this truck is true metal.
The see through shot i did in three steps. I took one with the cab on, and one at exactly the same spot with the cab removed. I opened both the pictures in Photoshop and put the picture with the cab on on top of the other (layers). With the remove tool (tuned to about 30%)i could remove parts of the cabin now and expose the layer below with the engine visible. Basically it is not that hard to master, and gives a very nice result.
What the.... ? How on earth did you do that awesome see-thru shot?! This model is INCREDIBLE. Perhaps your best yet, and therefore maybe the best on MOCpages. I can't say ANYTHING that could be improved. Absolutely beautiful. 10/10
