The Porsche 961 was a racing car built by Porsche and based on their 959 sports car. It was intended for Group B sports car racing, complementing the purpose-built 956 and 962C which ran Group C in the World Sports-Prototype Championship.
Amazing model, I was only recently reading a magazine article on the 961, and how its racing career was so short lived... Your attention to detail is absolutely amazing! I was wondering, how do you do the curved rood, and curves down the side with those tiny cheese plates... Please could you let me know how you do it? Thanks :)

Wow, I really love this one! I didn't remember that there was a race track version of the 959, I only remembered the Dakar racers. Your one is beautiful as always and filled with amazing techniques and details. My favourite detail on this one are the angular side panels they add some extra spice to the shaping. Then there is the detailed engine, the cockpit, the seats... Great job! :-))
youre one of the epic builder in the world, great Moc, great work
I like it

A really great car from you again it`s so fantastic how detailed and smooth you build your car(s). How much do you pay for the parts for a model like this? Can`t wait to see your next model, I´m sure it will be so great.
I have a lot of favourite builders, but I have to say this model is one of the best I have ever, ever, seen. You capture the lines and the intricate details so well. The moc looks more like a die-cast model than LEGO. The rear lights, especially, are exactly like the original. I literally exclaimed 'oh my god' while i was browsing through the pictures.
You should put this on Cuussoo immediately, I would have no problem spending $100 on a model like this. Great work!
It's really great to see someone who accurately creates some of the less known about but still as beautiful Porsches. This 959 derived le mans car has an incredible story behind it. Unfortunately, the one-off car spun out on the 1987 Le Mans, at the hands of Kees Nierop after a gearbox problem. The car caught fire and was destroyed, but has now been rebuilt and returned to its former glory; it now resides in the Porsche museum in Stuttgart.
I am in awe at your skills, Malte. I adore the shaping, and the way you connected the headlights to the body is very cool. I also love the way you made the body removable. I will try that idea sometime in a future car if mine. 5/5/ -LB Jr.
when i looked at your porsches for the first time i didn't thought you could reach a higher lever in your buildingskills... But i was wrong - with every car you get a little bit better! the details in this are stunning...
So smooth and accurate! Absolutely love it! The blue is a bit too blue but I think dark blue would be too dark, oh well we can't have it all! Hows about a standard 959 in grey?? Not seen one of those in LEGO before ;-)
