UFO scout
About this creation
I haven't had a lot of time to play with Lego recently, real or virtual, but here's a quick MOC I did today.

This is a one man (or in this case woman) UFO style scout ship making use of those look-good-but-aren't-very-practical 10x10 quarter hull pieces.

The style is pretty standard flying saucer, the winglets and plasma ring were a late addition to the design but I think make a pretty convincing drive system.

Here's a close up of the pilot's control seat perched in the dome above the main hull - access is via a small fold down ladder which is kept locked out of the way when using the cabin below

Here we see the ship landed on the outskirts of a town, perhaps our heroine is exploring an alien world, perhaps she just ran out of her favourite generic diet soda and she's looking for a corner shop.

As you can see access is via a folding down ramp at the front of the craft but the control dome and the upper windows can also open if necessary.

Finally, here are some cutaways. I like the challenge of fitting in enough equipment to make my MOCs viable and you can see here the engines (black with pink lights on), fuel cells (red and white strips), atmosphere processor (the sand red machine to the right of the engines), gravity generator (gold thingie), navigation computer (black device near the emtrance ramp) and the main computer system which has a 3d imaging system on the back pointing out the window. On the right you'll also see the pilot's bunk with sleep induement system above it and by the ramp are a handy walkie talkie and laser blaster for surface escapades. There's also a tiny secure storage space in the two lockers near the entrance.

Yes, I know it's not real but you could build this and it would hold together - I don't cheat with my digital work anymore and you won't find any flying bricks around here - but you wouldn't be able to play with the interior details so, for now, this is going to stay virtual.

LXF file attached so you can play with the ship yourself if you have Lego Digital Designer (it's free, go and download it!)

Cool design! I like all the different backdrops, too.
