The rider's horse reared up as they rode out of the wilds and set their eyes upon a friendly sight. Towards them, the wind carried the smell of freshly cooked chicken and the sound of singing...
<i>"You can ride across the Gap,
You can ride until the sun sets.
But when it's down and it's time to stop,
Stop at the Rider's Rest!"</i>
The rider patted his horse and smiled. "We're home."
About this creation
The Rider's Rest was an inn resting in the lands of Rohan. The inn boasted some of the best food and drink outside of the Golden Halls of Edoras.
When the Wildmen of Dunland attacked Rohan on the orders of Saruman the White, several warriors made a brave stand in the grounds of the inn and managed to repel the invaders, saving the lives of many of the village's residents.
The inn was owned by the Mahogany family and the family was well respected throughout Rohan.
The top level of the inn. The roof comes from an old Creator set of a white bungalow. I took it apart and replaced all the white with red and added some better windows. The chimney was my own add on.
Here we can see a drunk man stumbling out of the inn. I was arguing over whether or not to use yellow or skin coloured people. But I grew up with yellow people and they're much cooler :P
The front of the inn has an eating area with a semi-circular stone wall running around it. I am really pleased with how the wall turned out.
Another shot of the wall.
Here you can see a few patrons drinking off of the barrals that act as tables.
A man enjoys some of the Rider's Rest's famous chicken and a goblet of ale.
The inn proudly displays the banner of Rohan.
A shot of the inn's own banners and the wooden beams that are the foundation of the building.
Here's another shot of the chimney with an owl perched on top. Along with the wall I was really happy with the chimney because at first it looked to blocky but now I'm quite happy with it.
Mr Mahogany can be seen here cutting wood whilst the family dog plays beside him.
The Mahogany's son has just unloaded a traveller's horse and is now leading it to the stables for the night before taking the traveller's bags to his room.
The horse is well supplied with fruit and vegetables and even a few of Mrs Mahogany's books!
Over the door the inn bears its own red flag and the standard inn sign.
Another shot of the young Master Mahogany leading the horse to its bed of straw.
The rider has just ridden in from the wilds and the ground and plants are a lot less controlled here than in Mrs Mahogany's neatly kept gardens.
The rider will first go to the stables to put his horse away before tucking into some ale and chicken.
The inside of the inn (Apologies for some bad reflections but the brown made everything really dark so I had to use a table light.)
Beside the door are the stairs leading up to the balcony overlooking the ground floor and the rooms above.
Mrs Mahogany serves a patron some ale out of the barrels kept behind the bar.
An adventurer sits in the corner beside the fire. Although the area is safe and the inn well protected he keeps a weary hand on the hilt of his sword.
A young couple stand in front of the fire talking quietly to each other.
A man leans casually against the balcony, watching the people below him go about their business.
Here is a picture of the stables without it's roof.
Another picture of the front garden and the wall.

Well this is my first big castle MOC and I really loved building it and I'm really pleased with how it turned out.
I hope you all liked it and as I said, this is my entry for the inn catagory of the Lego LOTR Contest .
The inn looks really nice and looks like it could fit comfortably anywhere on middle earth. However, I am not really a fan of the fence and hay techniques. Yes, they may be new and innovative, but it's really just bricks strewn around. The detailed in saves you on this one, as I really do enjoy it. 7/10
I like it

As always, Harry, you bring the goods. One of my favorites of yours!
Fantastic job you did here! Your minifigures are great and the inside of the Inn is really good too. Perhaps you can put a light block in the Inn for a fireplace to light it up if you make another version. Well anyways great job and I hope you win!
