About this creation
Day 43; Itís hard to believe that itís been 43 days since they came. It started out as a simple virus, a new strain that had never been before by scientists. Doctors had no idea what it was; governments spent millions in research trying to discover what it was. After twelve years they had a breakthrough, they had a developed a cure for the disease and were about to mass produce it to send it out to the millions. Then it mutated, it was as if it knew that we had a cure for, as if it was more intelligent than us, as if it was tempting us to kill, wanting us to pursue it and then crush our hopes leaving us in worse shape than before. After it mutated it spread like wildfire, cities fell daily, infected and defeated. A few of us had a nature resistance to the virus that was inexplicable. We were called a medical marvel. We were tested by the surviving doctors. They took thousands of strands of DNA from us trying to find a cure. Unfortunately for them, their HAZMAT suits didnít save them from the virus. It mutated once again, this time to thrive in nitrogen and oxygen. It infected the air, all of the specially treated oxygen tanks became infected, the scientists had no chance of survival, and they were dead within the day. We tried to band together, to build up a civilization from the ruins of the earth. We moved out into the desert were the stench of decay and rot didnít make us quake and vomit, there werenít enough bodies out there to rot and the sun made quick work of anything left out to dry. We had assembled a village, we had money we had a food source we had water we were establishing a government, civilization was starting to rebuild itself. Then the worst thing that could happen happened. The virus mutated for a final time, this time it re-animated dead tissue. All the rotten bodies came alive, unthinking and uncaring, but alive. They hungered for us. The first night they came for us we lost half of our population to them, the screams were unbearable, that sound of bones twisting and being crushed pressed into our brains only interrupted by the crack of rifles puncturing the night air. After that we packed up and moved as far as we could. On the way we were attacked, slow moving and disorientated we were an easy target. After six weeks we arrived here. I and two others were the only survivors from the two hundred we once had. That was yesterday, today is today and today we must continue the fight for survival until these demons leave of weíve killed them all.

Day 52; finally I can write. Thereís so little time for anything except for survival now. We have food and water weíve found an abandoned army base, crawling with the monsters but with enough guns and ammo for us to stay alive for years. They also have food, although most of it is rotten by now they had freeze dried food, not much but enough to stay alive. Iím getting tired and Iíll write more tomorrow if I can. Good night.

Day 54; the first day where thereís been nothing to do but sit around. While I have some free time I should describe our fort. Itís small. About twenty feet by ten feet. We have a barrier of metal made from stuff scavenged from the nearby army base; our other barriers are made of crates and barrels. Luckily we have two small power generators that are fuelled by flesh, I tell myself that they arenít human anymore, instead theyíre demons, but I still feel bad burning them. We have a fire pit that we use to cook meat. Thereís a small table for eating and preparing food. Thereís a retractable ladder that reaches up to the second floor. We have two canvas tarps hung up to protect the top from rain. They do a bad job of it though. Thereís not enough canvas to cover the whole floor, so we cover whatís important, the radio and my girlfriend. Jake and I have to sleep out in the open. The small mattresses arenít comfortable, but it beats sleeping on dented metal. We all sleep with our guns by our sides, the slightest sound enough to get us awake and with our fingers on the trigger before a word can be spoken. We have lights around the second floor powered by the generators. They attract zombies but they prevent us from being snuck up upon and improve our chances of survival.

Day 67; I forgot to describe my companions. Jake, my best friend since childhood is the first of the two. Heís saved my life more times than I can count. He always wears a helmet since he got hit by a car, it crushed his skull and he barely lived. Since then heís had brain damage and got kicked out of college. Heís rented with me ever since. I know that if weíre going to survive this itíll be because of his courage and strength.

My second companion, Mara, is my girlfriend we met for the first time six years at the lab and we started going out the next day. She was in the army once and sheís fierce with a gun. Give her a few rounds and a gun and any threat to her is going to be down on the ground in seconds, dead or disintegrated your choice.

Day 71; they attacked us today. There was about thirty of them, they rushed us and just about overwhelmed us, but we fought back and defeated them. We burned the bodies so there was no chance of us getting infected. Weíve survived to see another sunset.

Day 72; I realized what was odd about the zombies we saw yesterday. They were cream colored and their faces were all the same. They werenít the normal yellow of a minifigure, what does this mean? I tried to tell the others this, but they just laughed at me and said I had been delusional from the fight. Theyíre wrong though, I know what I saw and I know that it means something.

Day 89; theyíre getting smarter. They attacked us again today and instead of rushing in all at one like they did last time they came one at a time coming faster and faster. They just about got to us until we staggered our fire taking thee out at a time. They can learn, theyíre sentient, they learn as a human does although at a faster rate. Itís time to face it, eventually weíll die.

Day 93; some merchant came and asked if we would sell him some food and water for money. Money? Itís useless now, to survive you have to steal, money canít be eaten, you can kill with it. Now itís just a pretty decoration. We sent him off but if we find his body on one of our patrols weíre taking his money and everything else he owns.

Day 94; good thing we didnít sell him any food, weíve run out as it is our selves. I had to eat zombie flesh to get the energy to go raid the army base. Itís nasty; it has the texture of raw fish and is just as slimy. The only benefit is that it has more caffeine in it then any energy drink. Not sure why or how we now that, I just know that itís life saver and I can now find real food.

Day 102; itís over, theyíve crushed the barricades and theyíre taking out the supports. If you read this youíll know that we failed and that weíre dead. Good by...

Hmm what's this?

Well thank you to my opponent for this moc off and thank you for suffering through my super long and intensely written APOC Moc. This was an amazing build and it took along time to get right as well. My favorite part is the canvas covers on the top of the base. Oh and before I go I know that the ending was a little off topic, but anyone get it?
