Should I Clean my room?
About this creation

Do I or do I not?

  March 30, 2015
Ha. Still having less than 10,000 Legos at the moment, I've never really been able to get my room that messy (which is AOK by me!). I would agree with the other "cleaner-uppers": You really should organize things. Both for your good and for the benefit of unending joy from your parents ;) I don't know if I admire your creations more or the fact that you can put them together despite the chaos... But hey, it's your room ;) God bless, ~Promar~

Yes, I do agree with everyone else. You really should color-sort it to make building much easier, more fun, and just plain sanitary. ;) On a different note, wow you have an impressive collection!

Wow.....that is truly a mess. Clean it and sort it! For the win!

It amazes me that you are able to find any pieces to build with in that mess...and yes I believe you should clean up your room, unless you wish to spend hours looking for a few pieces. My suggestion would be like what was said previously, but clear out that wooden shelf for any mocs or WIP's you wish to stay intact and put those there, then proceed to putting everything else into a few bins and actually making some room for yourself to work and move around without stepping on pieces...then gradually begin sorting by colors. What I do is take about 5 or 6 large bins/boxes/tupperware (whatever you prefer, i like tupperware because i can put a lid on it once im done working with that color and then can save it for when i go to sort by piece) and then sort by general color: such as blue, red, yellow, gray (i do all but you can do dark and light if thats easier for you) green, etc. then once those are organized, i'll sort by piece type/size into ziploc bags which are great for storing and dont take up too much space. And finally, I put those bags of sorted pieces into actual bins based on color, ones black, ones red, etc. So now what once took up your whole room will take up a little bit of space along the side of the wall or closet, etc. This will definitely help you build faster, and better because I know how it feels being disorganized when building something and after you're done with it you find a few pieces that you knew would have worked great in a certain place but are already finished and whatnot. Sorry for the long post but its the system that took me a while to develop but for re-organizing a dismantled Moc it works wonders! And when you're ready to build something new being organized will make the building process go that much quicker I guarantee it! :) Good luck with this and let me know if you need any help. -J.

Well I suggest you just shove it all into boxes so you can actually live in your room. Then if you want, gradually sort it over a few weeks.

You definitely need to clean up! There is no doubt about it in my mind, and how could there be doubt in yours?!?! I would suggest sorting your pieces out by color, as it REALLY helps with builds, and you can buy cheap boxes over at any Micheals Art and Supply Store! Good luck, because that looks very time-consuming...
