Nothing says nerd in music better than Rush...
Based on their latest album "Clockwork Angels," this LDD build shows our protagonist coming upon a local watering hole, on the edge of the desert he enters in the song "Seven Cities of Gold."
A mechanical "Angel" watches from the nearby clock tower, as people socialize in the cave based bar. The hero passes a local woman, reminding him of his recent, and devastating breakup with his girl friend (see the song "Halo Effect").
The workers shovel coal to fire the nearby steam boiler, providing power to nearby mines and homes.
From here we can see some more views of the bar, and our hero as he approaches it. The next morning he will head out into the Moab Utah like desert; were he will come close to meeting his end...
College is an adventure, however Lego kits must stay home (my collection would not fit in my dorm anyway). So I will be stuck to LDD for awhile, until homework, school, a religious mission, and dating will plunge me into the unavoidable dark ages...
Edit Nearly Three years later:
So I finally got around to buying and reading Clockwork Angels the Novel. I am bemused by this model for the mistakes I made and the things I got right. A few of them:
The formerly nameless hero is actually called Owen Hardy.
The Clockwork Angels are four automotans in a large city square, not the small mini-fig creature I bad depicted here.
Coal is not in use in the story, having been replaced by "coldfire".
What I did get spot on is that Owen actually does start his Adventure to the Seven Cities from a tavern at a desert outpost...
That novel left me with a million more MOC ideas... ;)
