About this creation
Once, in 1487 a.d. Bartolomeu Dias, the man who always was hoping to travel far away, has began his journey.

Traveling along Africa he was looking for sea route to the India.

When he found in 1488 a.d. the furthest southern point of the Africa (Today called The Cape of the Good Hope)becouse of the location he called it The Cape of Storms.

However, somebody really had to find sea route to India- and Cape of Storms doesn't encourage anybody -The Government grant it a new name, surely more encourageous: The Cape of the Good Hope.

Bartolomeu's ambition was guiding him toward his dreams: The sea route to India. But unfortunately his crew was too much disobedient and they didn't want to go so far.

Dias has back to Portugal and very sad came to the initiator of his journey: João the second, the king of Portugal.

Bartolomeu said: "I'm sorry. I haven't reached the India. The only I discovered is Southern end of Africa." He did expected, that the king will be very angry.

But the king was extremely greatfull. He thanks to the Bartolomeu and gave him next mission....

Lego Bartolomeu Dias, the Portuguese explorer.

The hair with captain cap, are made of clay and fully removeble.

The next mission that has been given to Bartolomeu Dias was helping another traveller to find sea route to India. This traveller was Vasco da Gama.
