Created by the Necromancer to fight the knights of Emperor Rex
About this creation
There are probably a few credits/thank yous that should accompany this creation.
Firstly, thanks to PeteCorp who'd design Dragon Knight was a big inspiration.
Secondly, a big thank you to Aidan Bryant who's idea of using minfig helmets for armour parts I "borrowed".
The idea was to create something close to minifig scale but with considerably more articulation. However (And I've yet to add the pictures) this figure probably stands about 3 times as tall as most minifigs.
The limbs are a hybrid of various designs I've seen or tried out. However they incorporate a new part I've not seen on LDD until V4.3, a clip and tube combination that is fast becoming my new favourite part.
The unicorn horn shoes were a last minute change, the figure originally had slopes for toes, but I didn't feel they fit with the overall armoured feel.
I had originally intended to use horns for the helmet, but those blades fit the feel better IMO.
I had some trouble getting the linking tool to actually grab the sword, so while the action poses look impressive, once you have him in that pose, you're pretty much stuck with it. Next time I'll try building a figure already holding his weapon with both hands before attempting to dress or pose it.
At first I was worried the spindly look of this design made him appear too feminine. But it occurred to me that if it is a skeletal warrior, he's not going to have much flesh, so the look sort of works (unintentionally).
I may tinker with the frame to try and create an Amazon or Valkyrie warrior, but it would need a few subtle modifications for better proportions.
As always comments, suggestions, advice and critiques are more than welcome. Spam will be deleted.
Thanks Chris, I was slightly worried they didn't look "human" enough, till I started experimenting with some poses. I'm particularly proud of the kneecaps and toes.
Could probably have benefited from some spurs, and thinner fauld/tasset, but overall I'm happy.
