Grove Champion's car from the PC game "Interstate 76." The car has been modified with armor plating; top mounted 50 cal. Machine Gun and 25mm Cannon, as well as rear flame thrower and landmine dropper. This version has been even more improved then the last
About this creation
This MOC is not based on a Plymouth Barracuda but rather a fictional car that is based on the real thing. Some details might not match a real Barracuda so remember; this is a ‘Ranha, not a ‘Cuda.
I think I might have changed even more in this version then in the last version!
Skeeter’s upgrades from V2: (Skeeter = your mechanic)
Made the chassis a whole stud longer, hood is now a stud longer to make up for this and it has more details. Completely redesigned the grill, redesigned the whole back of the car- everything after the rear seat is new. The flame thrower now comes through the rear bumper instead of just being a 1x1 round plate on it. I also made new mirrors and changed a few other minor things.
Behind the wheel (about the car):
The car has all the stuff a normal car would have, opening doors, trunk, hood, and a V8 engine. The interior has a steering wheel, 2 front seats plus 2 very small back ones, a handbrake, gear shift, interior and exterior door handles, and even cranks for the windows. Groves Sister, Jade Champion had the car modified for combat with 640 pounds of armor plating and reinforcement to the chassis. The Piranha has a top mounted 50 cal and 25mm that fire forward. For the rear it has land mines that can be dropped behind the car and a flamethrower that comes through the rear bumper. The car also has all the instruments you need to navigate the field and keep track of your cars status thanks to the “Tyler-Barnett - TB525 Limited Edition Vigilante Instrument Suite (VIS)” (yes, I stole that from the manual), it has radar, a “Mr. Damage“ unit to show the status of ever part of your car, and “ammometers” to show the ammunition left in each of your weapons.

About the game:
-Interstate 76 is a PC game that came out in 1997. It is a vehicular combat game though has more in common with games like IL-2 Sturmovik and Microsoft Flight Simulator then it does with games like Twisted metal.
-Interstate 76 is a very complicated game, just about every button on the keyboard does something, from adjusting the Radar range, turning on and off the engine, even asking your mentor “Stampede” A.K.A. Torus (no one knows his real name) to tell you a poem over the CB radio. The game has no health bar system and instead relies on status indicators that show each individual part of your car. Your car takes damage where it is hit, if the front of your car is badly damaged, throw it in reverse and use your rear weapons to take out the enemy! Story: Quoted from Local Ditch Games Empozium
The year is 1976... a different 1976. You are Groove Champion, auto-vigilante, and you drive to avenge the death of your sister Jade, who was brutally murdered by known auto-mercenary Antonio Malochio. His plan, should he succeed, would leave the United States economy in shambles. He intends to destroy the U.S. strategic oil reserve and leave the country dry. His employer—OPEC. Jade tried to stop him... and failed. With help from seasoned auto-vigilante Taurus, former partner of Jade and now your wingman, and grease monkey Skeeter, who can fix just about anything, it's now up to you...
The 1976 Texas Vanity plate: "Charlie - Henry - Adam - Mary - Paul" (CHAMP). I also added the Car name which says 'Ranha like in the game instead of Piranha for some reason.
Every thing open
The SHO V8 Engine
You can see the landmines for the dropper and flamethrower. The game never showed the trunk being open, but that is the only logical place for them.
This shows the handles, and window rollers, the game never showed if it had these, but automatic windows would have been rare for early 70's.
50 cal and 20mm
Since none of her family knew Jade Champion moonlighted as a auto-vigilante, she would have had to take those guns off when she went to her day job as a race car driver, wouldn't she?
Final Pic: Coming Soonish! I have a really nice final pic in mind, I plan to make one of the games wallpapers in LEGO. I need custom Minifigs for it, LEGO doesn't have enough African American figs to to make a good Grove figure, let alone Jade and Torus. So I will upload it after I have done some research and made the figs.
As nice as this car looks, I'm still not quite happy with it. I would like to make a sticker of the actual instrument panels in the game and put them in. As mentioned, my Grove figure needs work, and I need two other figs as well for the final picture. I am pretty happy with it other then that.
