Steam Punk Medieval Mech
Damn my dyslexic fingers!! Spelling of the word "Dwarf" now corrected.
About this creation
Notes:
I've wanted to create something that was more mechanical in this series. Using the explanation, that most of what has gone before is magical, is a nice explanation for the often smooth lines, and lack of any visible engines. But in reality, with the engineering capabilities available in a medieval reality, some cogs and gears would need to be used somewhere.
So this is my first, serious, attempt at a steam punk concept.
Dwalves are usually depicted as master builders, engineers and miners. As such I wanted something that looked grimy, rough, ready and more importantly, like there was mining equipment built into the mix. I also wanted something that gave the impression of being steam powered, and was not symmetrical.
When I discovered the canon in LDD, that pretty much sealed it, that this thing would have only one arm. And once I'd done that, the pirate style peg leg just followed. Since miners tend to have accidents, the idea is that it did once have two limbs, but had to replace one to keep functional.
As with the last couple of designs, something is wrong with the LDD file and the hinge on the chest will not open. I think the pipes may be affecting the clearance.
