M.O. Round 2: SuperSpyX vs Gabe Umland
THE RULE OF WOMEN: My entry consists of four dioramas, each showing a part of life under the rule of women.
About this creation
My opponent's entry

"Heartlake City. Dystopia:" The take on this category would be something along the lines of "The Stepford Wives" (Yes, the (bleepy) remake with Mathew Broderick) only instead of the women being the subserviant subjects, this time the shoe is on the other foot. Give us your version of a dystopian society where the women are in control and the men are objects to be owned. (If you have "Friends" minifigs use them. If you don't, NO deductions will be made to your moc)

How did it happen? How did we not see it working? It came suddenly, overwhelming, moving like a tide, sweeping the globe, unstoppable. Before we knew what was happening, it was nearly complete, too late to do anything. How did we not see? All those women get-togethers, tupperware parties, talks with friends and all that? Sure, they did do those things, but what they where REALLY doing was planning, working and moving toward their goal. And we, like dumb animals, didn't suspect, didn't know, didn't think anything. You might say that we deserved our fate. Now, the downtrodden have risen up, and forced us down. We cannot resist. It is complete.

The factory is where men are converted into “servants”, only capable of obeying commands. The process is shown below.

View from right.

View from left.

STATION 1: A female worker, with the help of a cattle prod, herds captive men onto the conveyor belt.

STATION 2: When a man comes under, the giant hammer knocks him on the head, stunning him for the rest of the process. At the same time, a robotic arm removes the handcuffs and deposits them in a chute to the left for reuse.

Another view.

STATION 3: After being stunned, the men move under another robotic arm, which removes their hairpiece and drops it down the chute to the left.

Another view.

STATION 4: Once the hairpiece is removed, the men move on to the next station, where yet another robotic arm applies the antenna that allows the men to be controlled. The antennas come into the room on a conveyor belt to the left of the arm.

Another view.

After the process is finished, the newly completed “servant” walks out, past a quality check agent.

Another view.

The quality check console.

L to R: Man with hairpiece removed, stunned man, captive and female worker with cattle prod.

L to R: Quality check agent, completed “servant”, man with just installed antenna.

This dio shows everyday life in an urban setting. The men are doing tasks like pulling a rickshaw, moving crates in a warehouse, walking a dog, carrying packages and repairing the road.

Man walking the dog.

Woman returning from shopping trip, her servant is carrying the packages.

Another view of the tree.

Uh-oh, what's this? Phipson, chasing a blonde girl and being pursued by a policema-er, sorry, woman? This can't be good.

Ah, that's the trouble. His antenna fell off and he returned to his primal instincts. Oh well, that policewoman will soon take him out with her stun-gun.

Meanwhile, a road repairman is “busy” repairing the road.

Front of the warehouse.

Roof of the warehouse.

Another view of the roof.

Front of the warehouse without figs.

Inside of the warehouse, with the worker moving crates.

The rickshaw.

Without figs.

The rickshaw with a sleeping woman.

The rickshaw “driver”. I think his expression is perfect, don't you?

Back of the rickshaw.

L to R: Warehouse worker, Phipson, jogger, policewoman with stun-gun.

L to R: Package carrier, shopper, dog walker.

L to R: Road repairman with shovel, rickshaw driver, rickshaw passenger in rickshaw.

This dio shows everyday life in the country. It shows men mowing the lawn, weeding the garden, hanging up clothes and leading a horse, all under the watchful eye of their new masters.

Left side.

Right side.

Man hanging out clothes.

Another view without figs.

L to R: Horse rider, woman, horse leader, weeder, mower, clothes hanger-upper.

The lawn mower.

This dio shows the new ruling court of the women. Every four years, a new woman is chosen - based on brains and beauty - to rule. Also chosen is her personal assistant. Women have developed a new type of cosmetic that makes the skin pale, but it is expensive and only available to the ruling class. The queen and her assistant wear gold bracelets, and the queen wears a tiara and carries a scepter. Both wear fine dresses. The ruling class is served by a special staff of clones, specially altered to work for the elite. A butler (bringing bread and cheese on a tray) and two guards (armed with stun-guns) are shown.

Another view.

The queen's assistant.

Table with flowers in a vase and letters.

The queen on her throne.

Well, there's my entry, hopefully it will be good enough to advance! Good luck to my opponent also!

I really enjoyed your interpretation of the category! The men with the levers on their heads was a great direction to take the theme. It's always tough being the tiebreaker, but I think my vote goes to Gabe this round for the cleanliness and composition of his build. I'm sorry to see you go, but you put up a real fight!

Quoting Sebeus I This was a though one, I really like the use of the antenna's and the different vignettes but in the end I decided that your opponent's entry was, eventhough less complex, the better one. My vote goes to Gabe Umland. Keep it up, you didn't do bad at all ;)
I would've felt bad if his great entry didn't get any votes! :)

Strengths: Lot of nice story lines to build the concept. Some really nice details for some of the builds (1 & 4). Improvements: A little over photographed.

Well, I gotta tell ya... while your opponent beat you out on "cleaness" of build, there was just some really nice parts usage here and clever little details hidden all over that made yours stand out! The clothes pins, the street repair, the tile work... overall a really nice entry and worthy of my vote! Good luck with the other judges! ~ Chris.
