This was built for the Great Western Lego Show (STEAM), and basically came about because I wanted to use some dark purple :)
It was another excuse for me to try out a few more ideas with the whole 'Dark Gothic Fantasy' vibe, as I will be eventually building a very large castle using all these concepts.
It is NOT named after that 'Twilight' franchise...Hell No!
As with nearly all my mocs, its named after a song by a group aptly named 'Helloween'.
I apologize for the sloppy photos, they are not my best as im strugling with time, space and light, so this is the best I can do.
One of these days I'll figure out how you do those walls but in the meantime I'd be happy to reach the standards of your very first MOC, which I discovered a few minutes ago. This tower is an amazing structure and those little turrets are fantastic. I love the little quiffs at the apex of each roof. From the first photo I thought the base looked uncharacteristically two-dimensional, but I appreciate it more after looking through the subsequent photos. Beautiful work as usual.
The finest circular tower I think I've ever seen. While, in my book that technique really steals the show, there's a lot to be said for so many other techniques and effects, as well. Just a stunning creation from top to bottom! Great work, Luke!
Stunning. You build some of the most impressive castles on the pages. I am most happy that you are now posting pictures with the "large" setting. They were hard to see before. Great work with the curvature and the chains!
Wow! This is HUGE! Transporting it to and from STEAM must have been a challenge. Fantastic gothic styling and great use of that dark purple. The flying towers must have been structurally tricky too, most impressive.
