the figs wanted to have a race with all those cars I have built for them and I said "Well, you know there are no streets but wait until my first MOCiversary, I will get you some streets to race on". And so I did. And since my MOCiversary is today there was a fine race going on here this afternoon. But there was so much to do all the time that I almost forgot to take photos, still, I took one photo which you can see here.
Okay, since it's my MOCiversary today I'd like to show you a short review of the very beginning and some MOCs you have never seen before and will hopefully never see again. ;-)
But first let me thank you all for the nice welcome in this great community, for your support and for all the fun that is going on here. You are really a nice and inspiring bunch of people! Thanks again and I am looking forward to a great time we will have together!
Would you like to see my first MOC? Okay, here it is:
In April 2011 I recognized that some people build stands for their iPads out of Lego. Fine, I thought, I will try that, too. At that time I didn't know that there is something like an adult Lego community, I never even recognized new Lego sets or something. My Lego collection looked like the photo on the homepage, as you already know.
So I went to the local supermarket and bought that small technic Jeep 8066 to build the iPad stand. But looking around in the toy department of the supermarket I just couldn't believe my eyes: "THIS IS LEGO OF TODAY?"
And then I got the technic mobile crane 8053 for my birthday, and then the whole thing started. I built it, and then rebuilt it into this:
Ugly, isn't it? But it was motorized and remote controlled, it had a steering and pneumatic ("LEGO PNEUMATIC!") outriggers. So I thought I might become a Technic builder (I was obviously wrong), and I motorized another set:
And I tried to build a new and better mobile crane:
And here the technic thing stopped, I took this photo today, the mobile crane is more than a year old, and I will probably never finish it. Why is that? I simply don't know - perhaps Technic is too complicated to begin with.
But then there was the Town theme! I started with some fire trucks (my first MOC on MOCpages, the Faun ARFF, was uploaded on 1 October 2011, I am a bit late, I know), then I discovered the 7w thing, the Friends thing, I built some movie cars and then some vintage cars - you know all that stuff. Quite a few of my MOCs have been blogged (on The Lego Car Blog, on Brickpop and on Legozz), I have won one contest (and lost much more), but what delighted me most was when I recognized that people began to recreate some of my cars - the nicest compliment a Lego car builder can get.
Some of my personal favourites (in order of appearance):
The Cop Car
The Mad Max Interceptor
The Vintage Truck
What do you think?
That's it so far! Thanks for reading and viewing all this stuff and many thanks again for your kindness and support! Looking forward to a great time on MOCpages with you guys!
Happy MOCiversary Marcus!! Now your first year is over here. You became a great builder, had a year full of lovely, interesting, impressive creations and i love every piece of it. Thank you for showing us your great creations and can't wait to see what's coming next in your second year. I wish you all the best and happy building for the second one. Good luck my friend :)
