Perhaps I've been playing too much World of Tanks lately, but I've been needing a new air-transportable light tank for awhile, so here it is, the M78!
About this creation
Featuring greater survivability than the current airborne support vehicle, the M5, the M78 is also quite a bit smaller, though heavier. Able to fit in the smaller transports, that could prove to be a large tactical advantage in counter-attacks and strategic strikes. Though head-to-head confrontations to MBTs is never a good idea with this tank, it can however best them if proper tactics are employed.
The M78's main gun that can fire anything from special SAMs to artillery-type shells to canister to HEAT rounds just as easily. The crew of two is thanks to the auto-loading gun, allowing the gunner to select the ammo, rotate the turret, and fire from an interface that many skeptics have labeled a "Video-game like control system." The gunners, however, love this feature.
Finally, the spaced armor on the turret allows for lighter weight armor to provide more protection. Most HEAT rounds would penetrate the outer layer and explode in the open space between the slats and the turret itself.
6th Wall Commentary:
Yes, I'm alive here, it's just been forever and a day since I've posted anything. I have several projects on the line that I'm going to be pursuing shortly, but I've been focusing my efforts on military MOCs lately. Hopefully this doesn't disappoint!
aawwwww too bad, im on the european server. i would have liked to play with you. anyway, we just have to wait for the server change mech to come in. and on the narrow tracks, im planing on posting a light tank myself soon. maybe you can use my track system.
