This is Cloud's First Tsurugi sword from the movie Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. It's mostly comprised of beams, but I also used a telescope from the old Jonny Thunder Lego sets, and a weird piece from Megablocks sets that Lego minifigs can grab onto (it really helps create swords with beams and small plates). Yeah, as you can tell I'm not very color coordinated because I don't have some of these pieces in gray. My photos show which pieces I used, so you can build it, too.
About this creation
This is a view of the First Tsurugi facing the edge. I thought it looked pretty thin, if it weren't for the telescope thing on the small blade. It (the small blade) is SO USELESS! (I'll tell you why towards the end).
This is a pic of all four sword that make up the First Tsurugi. (From left to right): the front edge, the main blade, the back edge, and the small sword.
This is the main blade. This is the basic piece of the First Tsurugi. All of the other swords connect to this one (unless you make the second sword Cloud uses in his fight with the brothers or Sephiroth).
This is the sword that makes the main blade of the First Tsurugi. Normally, the handle is integrated in the blade itself, but I would've had to use a dremel tool to make it, and I don't cut pieces too often. So I used a 1X2 briefcase thing (I'm not too technical with piece names).
This is the sword that makes the back edge of the First Tsurugi. Yeah, the pic pretty much says it all.
And finally, this is the small blade. I used clay to bond the telescope to the blade itself (I didn't wanna risk using glue because I may use this on another creation, but if you decide to make this, feel free to use glue ^_^). If you put the sword together, you can flip the handle to the side, just like in the movie. As I was watching the movie, I kept wondering, "What is the purpose of this little sword in the First Tsurugi?" It didn't have a purpose on the completed sword. It didn't help the blade at all, and it didnt reinforce the back edge. So I'm just guessing it helps with Omnislash v5.
Well, there you have it; Cloud's First Tsurugi. Those weird little Megablocks pieces can work with the minifig hand. And if you build this, you can add it to a Cloud minifig and a Fenrir bike you can build on this site. Have fun!
