Transformers Armada - Hot Shot
Guess I have had Armada on the brains recently. I started working on Hot Shot just as I was putting the finishing touches on Armada Prime. So without further delay - here's HOT SHOT! (HoT sHoT)
About this creation

So we begin with a top view of everyone in vehicle mode. We have Hot Shot himself in the back, and the mini-cons (from top to bottom) Jetstorm, Runway, Jolt and lastly Sonar. And then there's that green/grey jar...hmm...

Now we have a back-view of the vehicle modes. Yes, just like the toy - Hot Shot has visible head syndrome. As do a couple of the mini-cons, but for their scale that's kind of normal.

Mini-con Robot modes! I personaly think Sonar & Jolt's robot modes turned out the best - but all 4 mini-cons had to have some changes done to get this to work. Jolt's legs/cock-pit transform completely different than the toy - and the former chest pieces of both Runway and Jetstorm no longer fold down. Sonar's head remains where it is - while on the actual toy Sonar's head rotated away for vehicle mode, along with the handle/peg for the sword mode. I probably could have done this more acurately if I made the mini-con's bigger, but then they wouldn't be Mini-cons now would they?!

Back view of the Mini-cons, and here you can see Hot Shot's car mode's attack form. Nothing special really, it just involves flipping out Hot Shot's feet, which are supposed to appear as "Buzz Saws".

Sonar! Runway! Jetstorm! Form Star Saber Sword!

Look at it. It's massive. It's longer than Hot Shot. And yeah, I know in the show it was maybe half that size - but here's how big the actual toy version was. Not really much different size-wise. So I think I did a pretty good job.

Now it's Hot Shot's turn to transform. Once again, just like the toy, Jolt can hold Hot Shot's engine while being transformed.

Here he is at last! Hot Shot in robot mode! Now with more articulation than the actual toy!

And now we delve into that jar of green stuff. If you haven't guessed by now - it's a jar of JaAm. HoT sHot's favorite "treat". AlSo JoLt Is HoT sHoT's JaAm CoPtOr!!!! Alright enough of that sillyness.

Back view of Hot Shot. Show's off his up-comming gimmick and infamous Mini-con port quite nicely.

Hot Shot holding the Star Saber Sword. YaY jAaM sWoRd!!! Sorry...couldn't resist...

Jolt! Powerlink!

Super Gimmicky (JaAm) Cannon Activate!

(JaAm) Cannon ready! Super powered up JaAm HoT sHoT ready for action!!!

Lastly, Hot Shot showing off his much greater articulation - by actualy being in a somewhat cool pose with his JaAm jar, Star Saber Sword and Wheel Cannon reering for action.

And that's it for Hot Shot. Now for as many gimmicks as this "figure" has, I had to sacrifice a few to complete this set.
-Hot Shot doesn't have a visor. There just wasn't a practical way to include it at this "scale". I had one on him originally - but it stuck out in vehicle mode too much.
-Jolt cannot connect to the back middle Mini-con port in vehicle mode and create the turbo propeller mode like the toy. This is again due to scale issues. To make this work - I would have had to sacrifice Jolt's robot mode - which was a no-no.
-Hot Shot's cannon doesn't actually have a missle. Once again - scale. There was no practical way to include a firing missile to the back wheel assembly without sacrificing wheel rotation - or the car sitting perfectly on the ground, etc. I actually did think of a way to do this on a larger scale.

and that about sums it up. Who knows - maybe someday I'll make a "Leader Class" Hot Shot that has all of his functioning gimmicks! Well hope you guys like it! YuM! JaAm!!!

How did you get it to transform like that? I know you designed it that way, but how did you move the pieces so that it would transform? Really awesome stuff, by the way.

Quoting AutoBricks Defender of the Bricks Well maybe you will figure it out sooner or later.
If I do figure it out, I'll eventually do it on that possible "Leader Class" Hot Shot I briefly tinkered with while working on this smaller one XD - More than likely that creation won't see the light of day for a long time though.

Cool! It looks exactly like the show. Including the star saber and the Minicons.

Thanks! Glad you like them! Still wish I could have gotten a visor on Hot Shot though. Then he would have been TRUELY show accurate.
