I wanted to make a monorail station that would fit in with our collection of modular buildings, and I happened to have a large number of Egyptian items available. [Oh, alright, I've been buying them up for years.]
About this creation
This is the mechanism that operates the start/stop control track piece. Since the station is a terminus, a 90° turn is all that's needed. Touch sensors limit the movement.
There should probably be better lighting around that ATM... The station name is "Pyramid". I'm trying to think what theme to go with for the next station.
The RCX gets signals from two touch sensors that limit the movement of the control track. The third sensor is a light sensor, used to detect when a train has arrived. To the right, you can see two of the monorail system control staff in the control room.
This is a small museum on the top floor.
A view of the end wall. I forgot to put the tops on the street lights before taking the picture. The pyramid is part of the roof garden.
