8833 Minifigures Series 8 Identification Guide
A guide to identifying the new 8833 Minifigures Series 8 in their packets.
About this creation

Evil Robot, Conquistador, Cowgirl, Lederhosen Guy, Football Player, Diver, Downhill Skier, Businessman, Fairy, Santa, Vampire Bat, DJ, Red Cheerleader, The Thespian, Pirate Captain and Alien Villainess.

This mini-review focuses on how to identify 8831 Minifigures Series 7 figures in their packets so you can avoid purchasing doubles.

The parts to feel for are listed next to the name of each minifigure as well as warnings of minifigures with similar parts.

Evil Robot- Like the Series 1 Robot, this figure comes with a clip for an arm and a large helmet. This minifigure is packaged with a short bar and space ray gun. The Downhill Skier's poles are the same length as the bar, but are much thinner.

Conquistador- The best way to find this minifigure is to locate his armour. It is the same size as the torso, but is empty in the middle. His hat can be confused with the Pirate Captain's and his sword with other accessories from other minifigures, so the armour is the most unique piece that the Conquistador has.

Cowgirl- The Cowgirl has a new hat piece and a lasso. The hat is connected to her hair, so the piece is very difficult to confuse with other parts. The lasso is easy to miss, but if you find it you can tell what it is because it will have a round loop at the top. Make sure you do not just feel the handle; it could be a part from the Evil Robot.

Lederhosen Guy- This character's hat is shaped like a tear drop with a pointed edge. His new pretzel piece has holes in it which can be felt. I recommend finding both parts to find the Lederhosen Guy.

Football Player- When looking for this minifigure, look for his trophy (shaped like a normal glass, but with bigger handles) and helmet (it is like the regular crash helmet although it has no chin guard). The grill piece is curved and is also quite distinct.

Diver- Search for the large helmet piece and the small 1x1 plates that go on this figure's feet. His harpoon is the same length as parts like the Evil Robot's laser rod and the swords used by the Conquistador and Pirate Captain, but has an angle handle and is not the same thickness throughout the piece.

Downhill Skier- Like the previous skier, the Downhill Skier is equipped with 2 long, flat skies and 2 thin poles. This one should be easy to find. Do not look for the hair- it is easy to confuse with that of other minifigures.

Businessman- The Businessman carries his own briefcase and 2x2 newspaper tile. His bowler hat has a very thin rim. I recommend searching for the tile and the briefcase. Make sure that you have found both because the DJ also carries a 2x2 tile.

Fairy- The Fairy carries a wand with a star tip that is easy to identify. Her new wing piece clips onto her neck and is fairly thin, but still the same plastic as the rest of her parts. Once again, I do not advise choosing this minifigure by feeling her hair.

Santa- Santa's hat is a new piece and his beard is quite small, so he is fairly difficult to find. He carries a solid sack piece with a handle which is fairly irregular. Try find a large piece that is not flat and then see if it has a handle. If it does, you have this minifigure.

Vampire Bat- This figure is very easy to find because it does not have a regular torso piece. It's arms face upwards and it has thin webbing below them running to its torso. You only need to find this piece.

DJ- Like the Businessman, the DJ carries a 2x2 tile. He also carries a round 2x2 tile. Find both of these parts (or just the round one) to identify a DJ. His hair also has round headphones on, so you could use it to check your work.

Red Cheerleader- This red version of Series 1's Cheerleader has the exact same pieces. Search for her 2 large uneven pompoms and check by finding a long hair piece. If the hair piece has a hat at the top, the packet you are feeling doesn't contain this figure.

The Thespian- The Thespian is unique in that is has 2 heads in its packet. His new neck piece is flat and round. I recommend just finding 2 heads to identify this minifigure. Make sure that they are round and flat, or they could be the Red Cheerleader's pompoms.

Pirate Captain- This minifigure's legs are different from others because one is actually a peg. This is you best option for identifying this figure because his sword and hat are similar to the parts of the Conquistador.

Alien Villainess- She has a large, easy to identify dress piece instead of legs. She has the same gun piece as the Evil Robot, so don't just look for that. Her brain piece has a similar texture to the Red Cheerleader's pompoms, so if you feel it try find another part unique to this minifigure.

I hope that you find this guide useful and that it helps you complete your set of 16 or helps you to find the individual figures that you want.

Quoting LegoJediMaster The Normal Ben, what is your favorite mini-fig, out of all the figs series. Also this is very helpful, I was able to get the Santa fig
I'm glad it was helpful. I don't really have a favourite minifigure although I do like the Genie quite a lot.

Very useful, as always! It really helps, especially, when 2 minifigs have very similar parts.
