I need YOUR help! I'm entering in a Lego Contest at one of my local public libraries this Saturday. I have plenty of things built, but I can only enter one thing and I can't make up my mind. I have sifted the selection down to these favorites.
Well, I took Bricker's Imagination, but I had almost no competition so I felt like it wasn't right to post anything. I mean, I had one other kid in my category and then I was up against a bunch of 6 year olds for the best in show thing. It didn't seem very right to brag about.
Great work on all of these! I definitely agree with Quad that Bricker's imagination or the pod racer are the best choices here. Bricker's imagination is very artsy and would be a big hit. Also most people know star wars so the podrace would be good...I think if you were able to build like a mini-land size figure or whatever they are called for the bike then that would make it a perfect entry. Good luck and let us know how you do! 5/5 -J.
I'm trying to think of what the uninformed public would be able to relate to and have to take off your domo from the list because I doubt that people would appreciate all the technical difficulties of making a mech. I also need to take off you Mars mission hover bike because it seems like it would need an actual figure in it for people to understand the scale of it. Your Siggy's podracer would be a great choice if the think the crowd there would be big star wars fans. But as an all-around entry I would suggest Bricker's Imagination. It signifies art, it represents the LEGO that all are familiar with by the fact that it's made of mostly brick pieces, and if you bring along your siggy to with it people will be able to really have something to compare it to.
Wow, a lot longer comment than I'm usually used to. Hope I helped.
While I like some more than others (e.g. Domo, which is awesome), I think that the Imagination one had the best chance of winning- people who know nothing about Lego and MOCing tend to be partial towards sculptures (think Sawaya) rather than small detailed things. Just my two cents.
Brickets imagination. While it is a more basic design, it is eyecatching and would appeal more to a non-lego builder. If the public are voting, or a non-lego builder, thats the one to go with. However, if a lego builder is judge, you might want to use the domo, or something else more technical... Best of luck!!!
Hmm, your Sig-Figs Podracer would probably do good due to it's size and most everyone knows what Star Wars is so that will play in as a factor. But I'm probably going to say go with the "Bricker's Imagination" build. I personally love it as it's a real piece of eye-candy and is extremely creative. So I think you should for sure go with "Bricker's Imagination" as it's a great build and is just plain cool. Good luck in the contest and I hope my opinion helped! :)
