Ancient Gijpswik
A view over the old station in Gijpswik, about 70% of the buildings on view have gone or been massively reworked.
About this creation
Deep in the bowels of my photographic archive I discovered some pictures of Gijpswik in the days of old. The good old days when the town was permitted in a well lit warm room, days that one day will hopefully be recreated

The red arches supporting a road bridge are long gone although the colonial style building and all the vehicles, curiously, remain.

The mark 3 DB DMU deposits it passengers at the station, whilst the mk1 66 is waiting with the Hogwarts Express. The cottages have gone and the station has been massively altered but using the same bricks.

Looking down the original main street. Surprisingly, to me anyway, quite a few buildings still exist. Most notably the yellow and red post office.

The tram route, from what I recall, was at this stage the longest it has ever been.

I think it's fascinating that you've had basically the same MOC around, but constantly evolving as buildings are renovated or torn down and new ones put up in their place, just like a real town. I'm curious as to how ancient these pictures are -- how long has Gijpswik been in existence?
