My wife and I recently celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary, and so naturally I gave her roses. Of course, this was no ordinary anniversary, and so these roses needed to be no ordinary roses. So of course they had to be built out of LEGO:-)
The idea for creating roses out of LEGO bricks came when I saw some being auctioned on Ebay by TLC. Rather than trying to recreate those, I took the general idea and ran with it, and created these:
The vase design came from my son; I think the silver really enhances the look of the bouquet. It was created by stacking some large, silver wheels. Each rose consists of about 100 bricks IIRC. Below are some pics that give a good idea of how I built them.
Spectacular! At first sight of the thumbnail I thought: "why is there a MOC of a vase of roses, instead of something made from LEGO's." I searched the picture in vain for some LEGO off to the side, before it hit me.
Dude, I want to buy this for my Girlfriend for Valentines day. Did you make this kit via Lego Design by ME, or just your own creativity?
You should sell this product! I'd be buying today. I'd pay $100. Email me more information, firstname.lastname@example.org
Wow, I saw this as the featured MOC today and I was thinking "Why are there roses on MOC..." Then I looked at it and I was shocked to see Lego! Well not really shocked, but I was amazed, very cool, I love them. =)
