A little vignette from a few weeks ago that I considered entering in the Eurobricks Micro Sci-Fi contest. The general premise here is of an intergalactic shipping hub on some remote geometric planet, complete with container drones, a freighter, and a barge. I personally wasn't satisfied with the result, but after some positive feedback from Flickr, I thought you all might like to take a look. Enjoy!
About this creation
Though the ships in the title image are 'shopped onto the background, they are properly positioned as you see above with the use of transparent supports.
The spaceport was conceptualized as a geometric contrast. The unearthly, pixelish mountains paired with the circular docks created an interesting composition, but it ended up being just a bit too busy than I was hoping.
The docks themselves are somewhat inspired by the cliche UFO crop circles
Micro container barge.
And the micro container drones that transport the freight from the large ships to the docks.
I'm gonna have to agree with Xenonmurphy on this one, its a bit too colorful for my taste. However the designs of the barge/ships is very well done and i really like the rockwork in the background. Also the black edge gives it a very nice proffessional feel. Nice job, Paul! Keep it up!
Excellent work with the rounded pieces from An Unexpected Gathering--I love the color scheme they have. Great rocks, too--the blocky feel is (as mentioned) a great contrast between the smoothness of the landscape; with that nice crack in there too, it feels like a recently-colonized little settlement. Fine job!
